FEBRUARY 4, 2003

The Closed Session was called to order at 9:01 p.m. by Mayor Farley, in the Central Community
Center Board Room. The purpose of the Closed Session was to discuss Personnel. Present were:
Trustees Timothy Corcoran, Paul Hoefert, Richard Lohrstorfer, Michaele Skowron, Irvana Wilks and
Michael Zadel. Staff present included Village Manager Michael Janonis and Assistant Village
Manager David Strahl.
Minutes
Approval of Minutes of January 21, 2003. Motion made by Trustee Zadel and Seconded by Trustee
Skowron. Minutes approved. Mayor Farley abstained.
Personnel
Assistant Village Manager Strahl provided an overview of the projected Retiree Health Insurance
costs for Public Works employees and overall Village retirees. He highlighted the fact that based on
the projected Village contribution of 60% for retirees as demanded by the Public Works Union and
the current count of retirees being 73 individuals, the annual cost would amount to approximately
$305,000. He stated based on the projected cost increases of health insurance and the addition of
more retirees over the next five years, the projected cost could amount to over $1 million annually
within five years.
There was discussion regarding the details of Village health insurance and the details of cost and
the likely future costs.
There was no further business and the Closed Session adjourned at 9:30 p.m.
