Lowe Village of Mount Prospect 100 South Emerson Street Mount Prospect, Illinois 60056 MINUTES CLOSED SESSION JULY 2, 2002 c?(!D[1[1 ~~[1[g&@[g IID& V~ ~ -Ol-iJfo IP The Closed Session was called to order at 8:06 p.m. by Mayor Farley, in the conference room of the Central Community Center. The purpose of the Closed Session was to discuss Litigation and Land Acquisition. Present were: Trustees Timothy Corcoran, Richard Lohrstorfer, Michaele Skowron, Irvana Wilks and Michael Zadel. Absent from the Closed Session was Trustee Paul Hoefert. Staff present included: Village Manager Michael Janonis and Assistant Village Manager David Strahl. Litiaation Village Manager Janonis provided an update to the Board regarding Timothy Cunningham vs. Village of Mount Prospect for the recently filed Federal Lawsuit filed by Mr. Cunningham claiming the Village retaliated against him for his Union activities. He also pointed out this is virtually the same Complaint that has been filed as an Unfair Labor Practice. He stated that he has retained Steven Rynecki of vonBriesen and Roper to defend the Village due to Steve's knowledge of First Amendment Cases and knowledge of the ULP. Assistant Village Manager Strahl provided an update regarding Elmhurst Accupressure. He stated that the business was recently denied its Appeal for closure due to Business License violation including prostitution charges. This Appeal was with the Circuit Court, however, now the decision has been stayed by the Judge in an effort to allow them to Appeal the Case to the Appellate Court. Land ACQuisition Village Manager Janonis advised the Board he has been in contact with the daughter of Mrs. Bretag regarding the Edgewood vacation following up regarding the Village's request that value be paid for the property to be vacated. Village Manager Janonis provided an update regarding the Mount Prospect Public Library Land Lease including sharing of parking receipts and control over design review impact on the building. Trustee Corcoran requested staff prepare a TIF Statement related to whether sharing of any profits generated from the Parking Deck is worthwhile. He also suggested getting the Boards together for completion of outstanding issues. Village Manager Janonis stated that he will bring the document back to the Village Board within the next couple of weeks. Approval of Minutes Closed Session Minutes of June 18, 2002. Motion made by Trustee Michael Zadel and Seconded by Trustee Richard Lohrstorfer. Minutes were approved. Trustee Corcoran abstained. Closed Session Minutes of June 4, 2002. Motion made by Trustee Richard Lohrstorfer and Seconded by Trustee Michael Zadel. Minutes were approved. There was no further business and the meeting adjourned at 8:37 p.m. ~ .
