MINUTES
CLOSED SESSION
November 27, 2001
The Closed Session was convened at 8:43 p.m. in the Human Services conference room. The
purpose of the Closed Session was to discuss Property Acquisition and Litigation. Present were:
Mayor Gerald Farley and Trustees Timothy Corcoran, Paul Hoefert, Richard Lohrstorfer, Michaele
Skowron, Irvana Wilks and Michael Zadel. Staff present included: Village Manager Michael Janonis
and Assistant Village Manager David Strahl.

Village Manager Janonis stated that it appears as if the Village is close to negotiating a Settlement
Letter with the Department of Justice. This would be in lieu of a Consent Decree. He reviewed the
various items that would likely be included as part of the Letter agreement. He also pointed out that
if approved, the agreement would remain in effect for five years and if no other issues surfaced
within three years, there would be an early termination. He stated that pending Village Board
authorization, he would continue to discuss the various language and to resolve the necessary
details regarding the Class Action Settlement.

Property Acquisition
Assistant Village Manager David Strahl provided a cost estimate regarding the additional services
necessary for DLK to evaluate the Bank One building for possible purchase.
There was also discussion regarding the opportunity to obtain the necessary property for the by-
pass roads around Route 83/Kensington/Rand intersection.
There was no other business discussed in Closed Session and the meeting adjourned at 9:09 p.m.
No action was taken.
