Lowe MINUTES CLOSED SESSION AUGUST 1, 2000 The Closed Session was called to order at 10:37 p.m., by Mayor Gerald Farley in the conference room of the Senior Center. A roll call was taken. Present were: Trustees Timothy Corcoran, Paul Hoefert, Richard Lohrstorfer, Dennis Prikkel, Michaele Skowron and Irvana Wilks. Staff present included Village Manager Michael Janonis and Assistant Village Manager David Strahl. The purpose of the Closed Session was to discuss Personnel and Property Acquisition. Personnel 5 ILCS 120/2 (c) (1) Performance review of the Village Manager was deferred. 'yo Village Manager Janonis did provide an update regarding Chief Pavlock. He stated that he ~ has had some discussions with the Chief regarding a possible retirement date in the near future ;2.. Il. AtJ.. and there is a discussion underway regarding the transition. He stated that he intends to obtain a general release from the Chief as part of the exit strategy and will likely be discussing possible insurance gap needs with the Village Board in preparation for executing a release. Union Negotiations A general update was provided to the Village Board regarding the current Police offer on the table as being described as the Village's final offer and the Village staff is currently awaiting a response. Manager Janonis stated that there are still extensive discussions underway with the Firefighters regarding their Contract proposal. Property Acquisition rvlanager Janonis stated he is awaiting an update regarding the Tod Curtis property and the outstanding issue regarding a garbage enclosure. He also stated that the current business that has operated in the rear of the building has moved out, therefore, there will be no loss of income to Tod when the rear of the building is obtained by the Village. Mr. Janonis also suggested that the Village Board authorize him to proceed with property acquisition regarding the Medical Clinic which is adjacent to the current Senior Center. Consensus of the Village Board was to move forward in obtaining the property. ~~ G'l'J ~ 0:\ ~ ~~ @S "\J d~ d[i=l 2)~ ~@ Trustee Corcoran provided an update regarding the SWANCC Court Case. He stated that the Supreme Court has accepted the Case for a Hearing and feels this will be a good test Case for the upcoming judicial year. He stated that a decision will be provided by the Supreme Court by June 2001.
