Trustee Kilroy, seconded by Trustee Teichert, moved for approval of
Ordinance #2109.
Under discussion, Trustee Tiechert, seconded by Trustee Kilroy, moved
to amend Section 3 of 0rdin~nce #2109 Paragraph A to include therein
"Class C" in the prohibition of mechanical pinball machine or device
operated on the premises.

FIBE AND POLICE
Fairview Trustee Reiter read the report of the Fire and Police Committee
Gardens regarding conflict of street names in Fairview Gardens. It was recon~r~nded
n~mes of that a n~c~ber and direction change in F~merson Street be made effective
streets January ~5, 1969, and the Village Attorney prepare an ordinance for passage
at the last meeting in December, 1968. Trustee Reiter seconded by Trustee
Lewis moved the Board approve the change in E~mersc~ Street in Fairview
Gardens in east to west street and the one hunch~ed numbers be changed to
1400 numbers and an ordinance be drawn in December.
Trustee Teichert, seconded by Trustee Rogers, moved to amend the above
motion with the addition of changing the street n~ne in Fairview Gardens
to E~merson Drive. ~-~

The Village Attorney was charged with preparation of an ordinance to
change the n~Noering and direction of Emmerson Street.

he Fire and Police Committee reviewed police car bids for three vehicles.Police Car
White~-Cronen Ford of Park Ridge was low bidder - total expenditure for Bids
3 cars with trade-ins, less disc brakes - $6,299.00, The Committee
recommended purchase of the police cars from White-Cronen Ford as
outlined. Trustee Reiter, seconded by Trustee Lewis, moved for purchase
of 2 marked cars and one unmarked car from White and Cronen, Inc. at
a cost of $6,299.00, after $1,000. allowance is given to three vehicles
as trade-ins.

The Fire and Police Conmittee reviewed the rules governing the Fire and Fire & Police
Police Commission and recon~nended approval as presented. Trustee Reiter, CGr~a. rules
seconded by Trustee Grittani, moved to concur with the reccmmendation
and approve the rules and regulations governing the Board of Fire and
P~ticeC6~.t ssion.

JUDICIARY CCMMI'ITEE
The Judiciary Cu~ittee reviewed Case No. 68-26A which is a land use 68-26A
variation request by Century Tile for the purpose of constructing and
operating an operation similar to that presently being conducted by
Century Tile on the subject property which is currently zoned R-1.
Representing Century Tile were Paul Spiewak, 509 S. Owen, and Frank
Poczatek, 401 N. Oak and Paul Peter Blac, co-counsel. Mr. Black
stated he had Just entered into this case and wished an opportunity to
review the transcript and ~ecords before the Judiciary Conmuittee made
a reconm~ndation to the Board.
Trustee Lewis, seconded by Trustee Teichert, moved to defer the Judiciary
Comnittee report until the first meeting in November to give Mr. Black
an opportunity to acquaint himself with the facts in Case 68-26A.

#2110.

The above ordinance ~ertains to setbacks.
The Judiciary Cor~nittee reviewed a request by Kaplan and Braun for annexation Kaplan &
of certain properties abutting Meier Road inm~diately west of Mark Terrace. Braun
The tentative plan of development indicated 27 single-family lots. It 3rd
also indicated a street with the necessary 66 ft. dedication coupled with Addition
the necessary requirements for a culde sac. The total acreage is 7.63,
October 15, 1968
and this property is contiguous to the corporate liraits of the Village of
Mount Prospect. The Conmtittee recommends annexation of the property.
Trustee Lewis, seconded by Trustee Kilroy, moved to concur with the
Judiciary Comn~ttee to approved annexation. Unanimous.
Annexation The J~diciary Committee reviewed the tentative ordinance for the involuntary
near lincoln arnexation of property locatSd on 3S of our z~ning map, which is bounded on
Weller Creek the south side by Ldncoln Avenue, on the west side by Weller Creek, on the
north side by the corporate iimits of the Village of Mount Prospect wherein
Weller Lane and Bobby Lane terr~ate, and on the east side of the corporate
limits of the Village wherein the homes on the west side of Kenilworth Ave.

Trustee Lewis, seconded by ~rustee Rogers, moved to concur with the
Judiciary Committee and approve involuntary annexation of the property
and direct the administration to prepare the necessary ordinance and
publish notice in the newspaper. Unanimous.
Rep. David J. Re~ner appeared to present Mayor Cor&~reve with the shovel
used in the ~ound-breaEing ceremony for the improvement of Weller Creek.
PUBLIC WORKS COMMi'i'±'~E
$ 2 way The Public Works Committee recon~nended purchase of 2 additional Motorola
radios 2-way radios for the Public Works Department and one portable radio for
purchased the Fire Department. Trustee Teichert, seconded by Trustee Grittani,
moved for authorization to purchase 2 Motorola 2-way radios for Public
Works and one portable radio for the Fire DePartment for a total amount
of $1,328.

Trustee Rogers, seconded by Trustee Teichert, moved a special meeting be
SA 70 called for the President and Board of Trustees to be held Tuesday, October
22, 1968 at 8:00 P.M. for the purpose of considering an ordinance regarding
Special Assessment #70.

OTHER BUSINESS
Cr~mley A first reading was given to an ordinance annexing the Cru~ley property. '
property The Clerk was requested to place it on the agenda of the next regular
meeting for final reading.
68-37P Request for rezoning of property at the northwest corner of Rand Rd.
and Route 83 from EX to B-4 (Case 68-37P) was considered. Mr. Franzen of
Granzen and Moore~ attorneys, represented the petitioner. He stated
there are are presently four stores existing on one lot, which because of
zoning, are non-conforming, and for this reason the petitioner cannot get
financing or made a sale. Trustee Teichert, seconded by Trustee Grittani,
moved that the Board concur with the recommendation of the Plan Con~uission
to the effect that the Board would rezone the property so that the present
use conforms to the present zoning classifications, subject to sub~dssion
of a resubdivision plat.

Trustee Teichert, seconded by Trustee Lewis, moved the subject matter of
Case 68-37P be placed on the agenda of the specail meeting of October 22,
1968. Unanimous.
Trustee Rogers, seconded by Trustee Lewis, moved to cancel the regular
meeting of November 5, 1968 because of the national election, and schedule
the next regular meetng for November 12, 1968. Unanimous.
Elk Ridge V Elk Rodge Villa Unit 7A linen was submitted for Board approval. The storm
Villa Unit sewer and sanitary sewer are on the south side of Palm Drive. Placement of
&a the sidewalk is a problem. The Plan Commission has signed the linen which

s in conformity with the exhibit and in accordance with the consent
decree. The question of the sidewalk was placed in the Judiciary Con~n-
ittee. Bonds for Elk Ridge Village have not yet been received for
Unit ?A.
President Congreve announced that Presidantail candidate Richard Nix~n Richard
chose Mount Prospect as a place at which he desires to appear. He Nixon to
stated this is a great honor and a tribute to the Village. Mr. Nixon visit
will speak at Mount Prospect High school on October 19th and President Mt. Prospect
Congreve requested the citizens to show the President~l candidate that
the motto of Mt. Prospect is a reality when we say '"Where friendliness
is a way of life."
