The Village Clerk was directed to forward a certified copy of Resolution 13-68 to Mr. Ben M~inemm~n, President ~f the Chicago and North Western Railroad. The Fire and Police Conm~ittee reviewed the bid received for w~ing radios for School District 59 under the Civil Defense program, which Radio Bids program the federal governn~nt participates to the extent of 50% end the local agency, in this case School District 59, the other 50%. The ~Village of Mount Prospect as an authorized Civil Defense agency, merely acts as a catalyst. It was noted that the five wan~ing radios for School District 59 are different units than those purchased by Districts 214, 57 end various other places of public assembly within the Village. The other units are all connected to the state police radio band, while the units requested by School District 59 are a Motorola brazed, end will be actuated through the Arlingtca Heights Police Department. These units are ~n excess of $200 each, as compared to the previously purchased units of the other goverrmm.ntal bodies, which were the federal 10/10s pt a cost of slightly in excess of $100 each. Since there has been federal approval of this purchase, and since Motorola was the only bidder, the Fire and Police Committee, by a vote of 3-0, recommended Board concurrence for the pur- chase of five Motorola units as per bid. Trustee Lewis expressed the opinion that the Motorola units were too cost ly. Trustee R~iter, seconded by Trustee Gritteni, moved to purchase the Motorola warning radios as per bid of $200 each. Upon roll call: Ayes: Reiter Gri~tani Kilroy Rogers Lewis Teichert Motion ~arrded. 68-11P Case 68-11P - Request by the Village Administration to amend Sections 27 and 31 of the Zoning Ordinance. Side Ys~d Section 27 referes to minimum side yard requiren~nts in R-l, R-2, and and Let R-4 districts; Section 31 defines the word "lot" and is applicable to any zoning district, regardless of classification. Reason for the request to amend Section 27 is to prevent, for example, an adjoining lot to be used to satisfy the side yard requirements. The amendment requested will forbid this. The amendment to Section 31, although it applies to all zoning classi- fications, is merely ~ing the code consistent with the amendment to Section 27. Again, it is to prevent the possibility of an adjoining lot being used to satisfy a side yard requirement and to make sure that one cannot include parts or a combination of ~ots adjacent to one another in fulfilling the general definition of lots. The Plan Commission recon~ends granting of this request, and the Judiciary Committee, by a vote of 3-0, recommends that the Board co~}c~l~.
