Howard Cooper appea~ed before the Board to give a boc~ound on ?~mer Cooper's Restaurant and problems involved. He reGuested the Village Farmer Cooper Board meeting of January 6, 1969 be considered invalid and the Village Restaurant Attorney was requested to render an openion on whether the Board could invalidate the proceedings of a previous meet ~f~ng, and secondly, because of the interruption of the Bosrd's continuity through election what effects would this have. Mr. Cooper presented Mr. Bill Decker of Chef's Unlimited, an expert chef, who testified on Mr. Cooper's behalf reKard- ~ quality of food served, and stated a beer license was vital to their business. Arthur Berg, 108 N. State, Chica$~, Ill. a court reporter, was present, and the Manager was requested to obtain a copy of the trans- cript of Mr. Cooper's discussion with the Board. Trustee Reiter, seconded by Trustee Furst, moved to authorize the Village Manager to expend money to obtain the transcript of the meeting at this point. Upon roll call: Ayes: Ahem Furst Kilroy Reiter Motion carried. ~equest for Mr, Robert Bennett, representing the Mount Prospect Youth Commission, ~oard sponsore~equested an expression f~om the Board regsrding the possibility of the Christmam Village Board sponsoring a Christmas dance for yo~. people. Plans are Dance indefinite at this time, but the Commdssion hoped to be able to obbain the use of Ranclhurst for the dance, obtain a '%ig-name" orchestra, have the adequate protection of the police, and they realized insurance would have to be considered. Questions of cost had not yet been studied, nor had the manner of financing. There is the possibility of obtainir~r a gu~antee of money From local civic groups. Youth Corem Trustee Reiter stated he felt the Youth Commission should become the problem workLng body on the matter of the problem alon~ Weller Creek as reported Weller Creek in the m_tnutes of September 8th, and directed his remarks to M~s. Irene Waterhouse, ur_~g her to sincerely reconsider her resiFnation Prom the Youth Cormtission. Village Manager Barnett reported on bids from Eaney Harris, Inc. Chicago, and Hans Rosenow ~oofin~ Co. Inc., Chic~. He stated he wished to retract Reg~ding his original recor~r~ndation and reconmend the bid of Hans Rosenow be ~ids for accepted for the repair of the Village Hall in the amount of $2,280.00 roofir~q and Public Works in the amount of $5,731.00 for roofing, and also sugA~ested including repair of the roof at 121 Waverly. Mr. Barnett expressed the urgency in this matter before damage to interio~ of the buildings, and stated this is a budgeted amDunt. Trustee ~hern, seconded by Trustee furst, moved to acdept the low bid 6f Hans Rosenow Roofin~ Co. of Chicago for roof repairs to the Vita~e Hall in the amount of $2~280.00 and the Public Works Building in the amount of $5,731.00, or a total of $8,01t.00. CASE 69-50A Case 69-50A - Arthur Battaglia, 911 RoBert Drive. Request for varia- variation for tion to install lawn sprinkler system on the parkway in front of his lawn sprinklerhouse. The Board of Appeals and Building Committee recommended a resolution be prepared pranting the petitioner license to go upon Village property, providing the petitioner signs a hold-harmless agree- ment with the Village which will bind his heirs and successors in title and will be made a part of the resolution.
