CIVIC AWARD P~SENTATION TO MRS. JOSEPH VAVRA Mrs. Vavra was presented with an award By M~. COl~I'~'~.~ CHAIRi~I ~EPOP~S BUILDING Trustee Soderman read for second reading Ordinance #2151: AN ORDINANCE A~ENDING THE FIBE PP.~.~ENTION COE~ OF THE VILLJ~GE OF MOUNT PROSPECT Trustee Soderman, seconded by Trustee Reiter, moved for passage and approval of Ordinance #2151. The Village Attorney suggested certain s~nendmanet to the ordinance before passage and Trustee Soder~n~u, seconded by Trustee Reiter, moved to amend the ordinance to'insert a comma on pg. l, sec. 24.403, sub-para. A, l, and also, on page delete the in~prisonn~nt c~Ause under Penalties. Upon roll call on the am~ndmsnts: Ayes: Reiter Grittani Kilroy Lewis Soderman Teichert MOTIC~ CARRIED. Upon motion for passag~ of Ordinance #2151: Ayes: Reiter Grittani Kilroy ~ewis Sode~ Teichert Motion carried. FINANCE C0~Tr~:~: The finance Committee met with members of the Mo~ut Prospect LibEary Board on February 24, 1969. A general discussion was held regarding the Library's re- quest for funds from the Village to the Library in the amount of $25,797 to cover ~uticipated expenses of the Library until the end of the current fiscal year. The Finance Cormnittee studied the request in light of the Library's appropriation and levy set by the Village for Library purposes and determined, by a vote of 2 0, that the Village could extend to the Library the sum of $18,469. The representatives of the Library then handed a letter to the Finance Committee, indicating the Library's position with respect to finances and the current fiscal year. The letter from the President of the Librsry Board, Gil Liebenow, reiterated the request for $25,797. Trustee Kilroy, seconded by Trustee Soderman, moved to concur with the recomrnend- ation of the Finance Committee. Mr. Liebenow ~ppeared before the Village Board ~¥ further discussion regarding the finances of the Library. Trustee Teichert, seconded by Trustee Grittani, moved to amend the motion to change the amount from $18,469 to $25,797. Upon roll call vote to amend the previous motion: Ayes: Grittani Lewis Teichert Congreve Nays: Reiter Kilroy Soderman Motion carried. Trustee Lewis read for second .reading Ordinance #2154: AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING DISTRICT 26 SCHOOL PROPEHTY TO THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT (These are two parcels of real estate - the Feehanville School and the River Trails Junior High School. ) Trustee Lewis, seconded by Trustee Kilroy, moved for passage and approval of Ordinance #2154. Upon roll call: Ayes: Reiter Grittani Kilroy Lewis Soderman Teichert Motion carried. Trustee Lewis, seconded by Trustee Teicher~, moved ~o authorize the President and Clerk to sign the Linen for the above annexation. Upon roll call: Ayes: Reiter Grittani Kilroy Lewis Soderman Teichert Motion carried. Trustee Lewis read for first reading an ordinance annexing 24.067 acres north and south of Golf Roads and east of Meier Road between Lonnquist Boulevard and Grove Drive. The Clerk was requested to place it on the next agenda for final reading. PUBLIC WORES COMMITI'EE A proposed recapture ordinance was submitted by Kaplan and Braun for storm sewers, water mains and sauitary ~sewers serving Units #2 end #B. The Village Manager advised there was no statutory authority for the Board ~o act. Trustee Soderman suggested the figures involved would have to be studied end by a vote of 2-0 the Cormnittee recommended that the recapture ordinance as proposed be submitted to the Board of Local Improvements as a public improvement on the basis of a special assessment. Mr. Braun requested'more time for research. The Clerk was directed to place this matter on the next agenda. OTHER BUSINESS Trustee Teichert~ seconded by Trustee Grittani, moved to waive requirements for two readings of the general election ordinance, for the 1969 regular election. Unanimous. PURCHASE OF PUMPS AND ELECTRICAL APPU~i'~ANCES FOR WELTER CP~K PUMPING STATICH AT GEORGE STREET The Village Mmnager recon~nended R. Wagner of Chicago, Illinois with a bid of $2,776.00 - 2% - l0 days after delivery. Trustee Grittani, seconded by Trustee Soderman, moved to approve awarding the contract to R. REPORT Trustee Grittani reported there had been a meetir~ before the Board meeting ~nd it was unanimously agreed to recommend to the Board that the Village Manager be directed to send a letter to Mr. O~ens of the Utility Company inviting him to the next Board Meeting at 7:00 P. M. on March 18th to discuss a purchase price, and he moved for approval of the Board. Trustee kilroy seconded the motion. Unanimous. POLIGE CAR BIDS The Village Manager submitted a written report regarding bids on police cars opened on February 28, 1969. This is for the purchase of two new police squad cars with provisions for trade-in of two existing 1968 Plymouth cars. Four agencies responded to the bid notice, and White and Cronen of Niles, Ill. was the low bidder at a gross price of $4992.00, less $1760.00 for trade-in, with a net price of $3232.00 for two 1969 Ford police cars. The admirnlstration reco~nded purchase from the low bidder as outlined above. Callero and Catino's St. Emily's Resubdivision was referred to the Plan Co~dssion. Petition for annexation south 211 feet of Lot 4 St. Emily's Church was referred to the Judiciary Committee. Insurance Conmcission report was referred to the Finance Committee.
