INVOCATION Trustee Furst gave the invocation. ROLL CALL Present upon ~oll call: Ahem Furst Kilroy Norris Reiter Soderman Teichert ROCK ROAD AGREE~ENT An agreement between the Village of Mount Prospect, Mount Prospect Park District aud Rock Road Construction Company, for the development of West Park and retention basin, was reviewed by the Board. Certain revisions were made. Rock Road Agreement Trustee Ahem, seconded by Trustee Furst, moved for approval of the amendments to the agreement and authorize the Village President to sign and the Clerk to attest. Upon roll call: Ayes: Ahem Furet Kilroy Norris Reiter Soderman Motion carried. RESOLUTION DECLARING A NUISANCE Trustee Furst reported on a meeting held in Park Ridge regarding air and noise O'hare pollution at O'Hare Airport, and the fact that it had been stated during the noise conference that Chicago had illegally strutted construction and ignored State Ofpollutior Illinois statutes. It is anticipated that the facilities will be tripled at 0'Hare Airport by 1972, A resolution declaring a nuisance was presented, and Trustee Furst, seconded by Trustee Ahem, moved for passage and approval of Resolution 6-70. Upon roll call: Ayes: Ahem Furst Kilroy Norris Reiter Soderman Resolution 6-70 Motion carried. Certified copies of Resolution 6-?0 are to be forwarded to each airllneaserviced by O'Hare, the FAA, City of Chicago, Senators and Representatives. METHOXYCHLOR AS A USE IN CONTROL OF DUTCH ELM DISEASE Spraying of elms was temporarily stopped because it was deterntined that the volume of spray purchased was only sufficient to cover approximately one-third of the Village ~nd an additional 6700 gallons of metho~ychlor was ~eeded to complete the program and would cost $17,152. The alternative available would be to experiment with Bidrin. However, the Village Manager did not recommend its use. He did state that some trees would be preserved by trimming and removal of diseased wood. There are approximately 5,500 elm trees in the Village. Public Works Director David Creamer v~iced an interest in the use of Bidrin on an experi- mental basis. This method is by injecting the chentlcal into the tree. The Village Manager was requested to obtain relative costs by the next regular Dutch ELm ~eeting in order to be able to discuss the mat~er in terms of the budget, disease and Trustee Reiter felt the Board should be fully apprised off the situation withMethoxychlor more complete facts in order to approach the matter at the next Board meeting to decide whether to insert this item in the budget for next year. The question of the use of Bidrin, Methoxychlor and tree trimming was referred to the May 5th meeting and the Village Manager was also requested to determine if Bidrin was safe to use. ON~I'fl'~'.~ ANNOUNCEMENTS Trustee Kilroy stated the Board members were all presented with the latest and final budget figures, and the Clerk was requested to place this item under the Finance CoHmittee repor~ for approval. Trustee Furst stated there will be a Safety Commission meeting Saturday May 2nd and they will discuss in detail the priority program. He urged all Board members to be in attendance at the meeting which was scheduled for 9:00 A. M. ADJOURNMENT Trustee Kilr~y, seconded by Trustee Norris, moved the meeting be adjourned. Time: 9:25 P.
