Cor~ssioner Robert Teepe of Mount Prospect appeared before the Board to DAMP
have an indication on the direction to proceed when the DAMP Con--~ission
. meets with the "Tree Towns" (Elmhurst, Villa Park, Lombard) on February
25'~ 1970 to consider either a connection to their water lines, which~;will
be intercepting the Chicago lines at O'Hare, or for DAMP to go directly
to Lake Michigan with separate lines.
He emphasized the urgency in proceeding along some route because it is
estimated the remaining lives of Mount Prespect's well's would be eight
to ten years. He suggested application be made to NIPC and HUD for
financial assistance when deter-r~ination is made on the procedure to take.
President Teichert sumned up the discussion by stating that unless there
were some objections, the President polled from the discussion that Chair-
man Teepe would go to the Tree Towns meeting with the understanding that
Mount Prospect was interested in exploring facets of a ,Joint venture be-
tween DAMP and Tree Towns, but that the Board is not ready to co~-~it them-
selves at this time. This matter will be placed on the agenda for the
next regular Board Meeting to enable Mr. Teepe to bring back to the Board
whatever study the Cormrission came up with before the Board will have to
make a definitive action, but they do not wish to do so until DAMP re-
quests such action. Commissioner Teepe was requested to determine the
time allocation before going to the State with its request. President
Teichert also emphasized the importance of sending the DAMP report to
the Northwest Municipal Conference.

It was requested that those members of the Board who plan on driving to
Milwaukee on March 14th advise the Village Manager.
