COMMUNICATIONS AND PETITIONS Mr. John Ayres and Karen Gaddis of the Red Cross were invited to appear before the Board to discuss their blood program. It would require a volunteer donation from the Village of 4% Blood don( of the population in order to have a successful operatio~O rem Importance was stressed on s program manned by volunteer~a~er training by the Red Cross. The goal of the organization is to supply all residents of the Village with free blood and a min- imal cost for processing and matching. Mrs. Boswell, Director of Health Services, stated this program was presented as an al- ternatlve for Board consideration, and the Red Cros~ program is on a national basis, while the North Suburban Association for Health Resources is a local organization. MANAGER'S REPORT A memorandum submitted by the Village Manager reported the Village Hall will receive a discount of 3¢ per gallon on ~ur- chases of gasoline from Winkelmann's Shell Station for premium gas for the 3 ambulances and 1 motorcycle° It is no~ economically feasible ~o install a Village-owned underground tank and pump ~ disc( that type of fuel. ~or Village At the previous meeting held November 21, 1972 the following motion was tabled: "Trustee Furst, seconded by Trustee Scholten, moved to waive the rules requiring two readings of an ordinance regarding Central Telephone Company franchise." Ordinance No. 2394 was reserved. Ordinance No/ 239~ Trustee Furst, seconded by Trustee Richardson, moved for approval of Ordinance #2394: AN ORDINANCE GRANTING TO CENTRAL TELEPHONE COMPANY motion for ,OF ILLINOIS, ITS LESSEES, SUCCESSORS AND ASSIGNS, approval of A NON-EXCLUSIVE RIGHT AND PRIVILEGE FOR A PERIOD Ordinance No. 2394 OF FIFTY (50) YEARS. TO USE THE STREETS, ALLEYS~ BRIDGES, RIVERS AND OTHER PUBLIC PLACES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, ILLINOIS, FOR THE PUR- POSE OF ERECTING, MAINTAINING AND OPERATING A TELEPHONE SYSTEM, INCLUDING ALL NECESSARY APPUR- TENANCES~ AND PRESCRIBING CERTAIN TERMS AND CON- DITIONS UNDER WHICH SAID COMPANY IS TO OPERATE Upon roll call: Ayes: Anderson Furst Richardson Teichert Nays: Ahern Link Motion carried. An engineering agreement with Alstot and March was sub- ~ mitred, for the necessary sewer and water engineering in Wedgewood Terrace under proposed Special Assessment SA 72. Trustee Richardson, seconded by Trustee Furst, moved to authorize the Mayor and Clerk to sign the engineering con- Alsbot and tract. Mr. Thomas Murphy presented a preliminary draft of the proposed amendment To the Comprehensive Plan of Mount Prospect to include the areas annexed in September of 1971 and the area lzl/2 miles beyond. This draft was submitted for discussion only. Trustee Richardson, seconded by Trustee Ahem, moved to waive the rules ~¢ consider the subject of the ~arking lot for the public library. Trustee Aherm, seconded by Trustee Richardson, moved that the title of Lot 9, Block - in Busse and Wills Resub- division be transferred from the name of the Village of Mount Prospect to the Mount Prospect Public 6ibrary. Trustee Anderson, seconded by Trustee Furst, moved to concur with the recommendation of the Building Committee on amend- menus to the swimming pool ordinance. JUDICIARY COMMITTEE Trustee Fursr, seconded by Trustee Ahern, moved To reconsider the vote of the previous meeting in the member of Case 72-10P so that the case can be referred back ro Committee for study. Upon roll call: Ayes: Ahem Anderson Furst RichardsonCase 72-10P Pass: Link Motion carried. It was stated the vote on reconsideration of the petition in Case No. 72-10P was posmponed until a recommendation is made by the Judiciary Committee. The nexI scheduled meeting of the Judiciary Committee is December 14th. Waivers were presented by Marathon Oil Company for the service station om Golf and Buss~e, signed by the Pioneer Trust and Savings Bank officials, waiving the right to enforce the 50' setback in order to permit construction of a Marathon Oil Company identification sign on Lot 2 at a distance of 7' south of the northerly lot line of Lot 2. An indemnifieation, executed by an official of Mara- thon Oil Co. was also submitted, to save harmless the Village of Mount Prospect for any claims. Trustee Anderson, seconded by Trustee Furst, moved to authorize the Mayor to sign and the Clerk to at~e'st the waiver. Case 72-31A (See sign variation case 72-31A).
