INVOCATION Call to Order Trustee Scholten gav~ the invocation. ROLL CALL Invocation Present upon roll call: Ahern Anderson Furst Scholten Richardson Teichert Roll Call RESOLUTION OF RESPECT Trustee Furst, seconded by Trustee Scholten, moved for passage of Resolution 12-72: Resolution # A RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION FOR THE SERVICE EXTE~2 BY RICHARD H. MONROE Richard Monro, WHEREAS, RICHARD H. MONROE has devoted his time, experience, knowledge, and dedication to the position of serving in the office of Village Trustee~.~of the Village of Mount Prospect from May 1, 197~] to May 16, 1972; and WHEREAS, RICHARD H. MONROE served unselfishly and dili- gently on the Zoning Board of Appeals prior to being elected to the office of Villag.e Clerk, and as Village Clerk from May, 1965 to May, 1969; and WHEREAS, the Village of Mount Prospect has been greatly enhanced by the knowledge and concentrated efforts ex- pended by RICHARD H. MONROE i~ the performance of his position as Village Trustee, especially with respect to accomplishments to many to enumerate herein; and WHEREAS, the residents of the Village of Mount Prospect are deply indebted to RICHARD H. MONROE for his distin- guished service to our Village; and · WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect desire to express to RICHARD H. MONROE on behalf of all of the residents of the Village their gratitude to him for his dedicated and distiDguished ser- vice to the Village; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: SECTION ONE: That by this Resolution the President andSec' I Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect express to RICHARD H. MONROE their deep gratitude for his dedicated, faithful, and constructive service as Village Trustee of the Village of Mount Prospect. SECTION TWO: That a copy of this Resolution be spread upon the minutes of the Board of Trustees of the Villa~ec'~ 2 of Mount Prospect as a perpetual memento and that a certi- fied copy of same be suitably engraved upon parchment and delivered to RICHARD H. MONROE. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and ap- proval in the manner provided by law. Trustee Ahern, seconded by Trustee Furst, moved to approve the appointment of Patrick Link to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Trustee Monroe. approval of appoint- ment of Patrick Li~on roll call: Ayes: .Ahern Anderson Furs~t Scholten Richardson Teichert Motion carried. Trustee Patrick Link took the oath of office and assumed his position on the Board. Oath of Office- Trustee Link Mrs. Pat Sramek requested an opportunity to be heard regarding the use of red ball stickers to be placed ~ln the windows of homes where children are living as a means of notification to the Fire Department in the event of a fire. The matter was charged to the Fire and Police Committee. The Village Man'ager submitted a written recomm'endati~n to the Board regarding Well #16 requesting authorization for short-term borrowing in the amount of $250,000, utilizing local lending institutions so that construction can commence immediately. It was further recommended recommend ~o enver that a contract be entered into with J P. Miller convrac~ with J.P, ' Miller-Artesian Artesian Well Co. Well Co. Trustee Richardson, seconded by Trustee Scholten, moved to authorize the Village Manager to enter into an construction of Well 16 agreement for construction of Well #16 with J. P. Mil'er Artesian Well Co. Upon roll call: Ayes: Ah.ern Anderson Furst Link Richardson Scholten Motion carried. At 9:15 P. M. Trustee Anderson left the meeting. Trustee Richardson, seconded by Trustee Scholten, moved for passage of Ordinance 42355: motion for pass- age of Ordinance AN ORDINANCE GRANTING A VARIATION FOR PROPERTY LOCATED AT '800 W. CENTRAL ROAD IN MOUNT PROSPECT, #2355 ILLINOIS (Addressograph-Multigraph) Upon roll call: Ayes: Ahern ~'Furst Ri~:&rdso~ ~ ~n Scholten Pass: Link Motion carried. Trustee Richardson, seconded by Trustee Ahern, moved to waive the rules to consider a.matter not on the agenda regarding acquisition of a right-of-way. May 23, 1972 pon roll call: Ayes: Ahern Furst Link Richardson Scholten Motion carried. The matter, discussed in Executive Session, pertained to the acquisition of a 7' right-of-way on Route 83 and 7' right-of-way on Central at the Central School a~t~or±ze proPerty. Trustee Ahern, seconded by Trustee Furst, an MIA moved to authorize the Village Manager to hire and appraisal o~ authorize an MAI appraisal of the Central School Central Sch~ property at Central and Route 83. property Upon roll call: Ayes: Ahern Furst Link Richardson Scholten Motion carried. An opinion was received from the Village Attorney con- cerning variations existing on property formerly resi- dential and now zoned for business. Trustee Ahern, seconded by Trustee Furst, moved the Village Attorney be authorized to go before the Board of Appeals and request repeal of the subject variations applied by specific ordinance mentioned when the property was residential.
