Call so Order INVOCATION Trustee Scholten gave the invocation. Invocation ROLL CAL_ Present upon roll call: A~ern Anderson Furst Richardson Schotten Teichert .... Roll Call ~bsent: Mon~a RECOMMENDED FEE SCHEDULE FOR BUSINESS LICENSES Mayor Teichert ~resented a report on a proposed schedule of fees for business licenses, re-allocating the present fee revenue. The purpose of this recommen- reporv on a dation is to assess businesses proportionately for the proposed sched- ule of fees fo~ time expended in inspections by the various departments and the work involved in processing each license, business licenses It was estimated by Mayor Seic.hert that the total amount of license fees which-the Village will collect will in no way cover the .entire cost'expended by the Village in regulating businesses, but would recover roughly 50% of the total costs involved. A second public hearing for Boaed action is scheduled for April 18th. The Chamber of Commerce, individual businessmen, etc.,were invited to.communicate their second public views to the Board members, hesring for ORDINANCE 2345 Board action scheduled for Trustee Richardson, seconded by Trustee Ahern, moved to waive the rules requiring two readings of an ord- April 18th inance relating to flooring materials in residential bu~dings. ~rdinance No. Upon roll call: Ayes: Ahern Anderson Furst Richardson2345 Scholten Motion carried. STATUS REPORT DAMP COMMISSION COMM. ROBERT TEEPE Comm. Teepe was invited by the Board to discuss the Status Report present status of the DAMP Commission and its study on tbe Damp of future water supply. Since the Supreme Court Commission ruled in 1970 that other municipalities could draw water from Lake Michigan further consideration was given to hooking up with Chicago or as members of DAMP the municipalities go directly to the lake. The Chicago and North Western Railway has consented to the proposal of using the right-of-way along the tracks. March 28, 1972 Des Plaines does at the present time have oipes connected with Chicago water lines. Figures presented would have to be revised if the other towns should elect to go to Chicago for water. It is estimated Mount Prospect will have to seek another source of supply of water by 1978. The Commission suggested alternatives sucn as mentioned above or sharing oipelines with "Tree -- "Tree Towns" Towns". The Commission is awaiting a report report -April is{rom "Tree Towns" due April 1st. The Village Engineer reoort that Chicago will not guarantee the pressure at the end of the line. The water must be delivered to a water storage tank.in the Village system for two times the maximum daily requirements. He polled the Board'informally to deter- mine the sense of the Board and Trustees Richardson, Ahenn, Scholten and Furst felt if the allocation were available the Villages should go to Lake Michigan direct for an in- dependent supply.. Trustee Anderson sta~ed he favored tying in to Chicago water lines. Comm. Teepe was advised that it was the Board's specific proposal to work through DAMP to go directly to Lake Michigan for its supply of water. Mayor Teichert recommended we transmit to Arlington Heights, Palatine and Des Plaines that when the allocation is made it is the Vi!lage's intent to pursue the matter to get a serious program under way.
