HomeMy WebLinkAbout04/19/1973 VB minutes MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE MAYOR AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES April 19, 1973 Special meeting of the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Villa9e of Mount Prospect called by Mayor Teichert on Monday, April 16, 1973, pursuant to Chapt. 2. "The Board of Trustees" Section 2.103 "Meetings." of the Municipal Code of Mount Prospect. Mayor Teichert called the meeting to order at 8:45 P.M. INVOCATION Trustee Furst gave the invocation. ROLL CALL Present upon roll call: Ahern Anderson Furst Scholten Teichert Absent: Richardson Link APPROVAL OF BILLS General $167,394.71 Parking System Revenue 1,121.04 Waterworks & Sewerage Bond & Interest 143,600.00 Depr. Impr. & Ext. 68,194.63 Operation & Maintenance 39,412.10 $419~722.48 Trustee Furst, seconded by Trustee Anderson, moved for approval of the above bills. Upon roll call: Ayes: Ahern Anderson Furst Scholten Motion carried~ Trustee Furst, seconded by Trustee Anderson, moved for approval of the Financial Report for the month of March, 1973 subject to audit. Upon ro. ll call: Ayes: Ahern Anderson Furst Scholten Motion carried. MANAGER'S REPORT Trustee Scholten, seconded by Trustee Ahern, moved to authorize the Village Manager to place the proposed 1973-74 budget on public inspection for ultimate passage on the night of May 1, 1973. Upon roll call: Ayes: Ahern Anderson Furst Scholten Motion carried. The Village Manager reported there would be a special federal census in the Summer of 1973 at an estimated cost of $15,000.00 and an initial check in the amount of $5,900.00 has been mailed. Trustee Anderson, seconded by Trustee Scholten, moved to ratify the action of the Village Manager. Upon roll call: Ayes: Ahern Anderson Furst Scholten Motion carried. he Village Manager reported the contract with the Combined Counties Police Association agr.eement would be considered at the special meeting of the Mayor and Board of Trustees to be held April 2~th. Trustee Anderson, seconded by Trustee Ahern, moved to concur in the recommendation of the Finance Committee to extend the present contract with Barrington Trucking Company, authorizing the Mayor and Clerk to sign the agreement for a th.ree month extension ending July 31, 1973. Upon roll call: Ayes: Ahern Anderson Furst Scholten Motion carried. Trustee Furst, seconded by Trustee Ahern, moved for passage of Ordinance 2414: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO.. 234~ AND ORDINANCE NO. ~278, PROVIDING AN AMENDED SITE PLAN FOR THAT PUD OF PROPERTIES COMMONLY KNOWN AS HUNTINGTON ESTATES Upon roll call: Ayes: Ahem Anderson Furst Scholten Motion carried. Trustee Ahern, seconded by Trustee Furst, moved for passage of Ordinance 2415: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING MAP 36-S OF THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT Upon roll call: Ayes: .Ahern Anderson Furst Scholten Motion carried. Trustee Ahem, seconded by Trustee Scholten, moved to approve Kenroy's Elmhurst-Dempster plat of subdivision, authorizing the Mayor and Clerk to sign and attest. Upon roll call: Ayes: Ahern Anderson Furst Scholten Motion carried. Trustee Furst, seconded by Trustee Scholten, moved for passage of Drdinance 2416: AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE PLANNED UNIT DEVELOP- MENT OF PROPERTIES LOCATED NORTH OF DEMPSTER STREET AND WEST OF ELMHURST ROAD Upon roll call: Ayes: Ahern Anderson Furst Scholten Motion carried. Trustee Furst, seconded by Trustee Ahern, moved to authorize the Mayor to sign ~hd, the Clerk to attest the restrictive covenants with the May Co. Exhibit "C" which is included in the above Ordinance #2~16 which has been executed by Kenroy, Inc. Upon roll call: Ayes: Ahern Anderson Furst Scholten Motion carried. April 19, 1973 THER BUSINESS Trustee Furst, seconded by Trustee Scholten, moved to waive the rules for the purpose of bringing before the Board for action ratification of the action taken by the Village Clerk in retaining counsel on election day. Upon roll call: Ayes: Ahern Anderson Furst Scholten Motion carried. Trustee Ahern, seconded by Trustee Scholten, moved to ratify the action taken by the Village Clerk in retain- ing Bernard F. Lee as counsel on election day, April 17, 1973. Upon roll call: Ayes: Ahern Anderson Furst Scholten Trustee Furst, seconded by Trustee Ahern, moved to concur with the Finance Committee recommendation for approval and creation of a beer and wine license. The Romance Pizzeria, located at 816 River Road, has met all parking, zoning, health and fire prevention re- quirements. Upon roll call: Ayes: Anderson Furst Scholten Nays: Ahern Motion carried. An ordinance was submitted for a first reading creating a beer and wine license and the Clerk was requested to place it on the May l, 1973 agenda for final reading.
