Mayor Teichert welcomed some eighth grade students from St. Raymond's School who were present to observe the Village Board in action as part of a civic study. COMMUNICATIONS AND PETITIONS Kenroy, Inc. of Huntington Commons development, had requested a public hearing concerning a change to the Zoning Ordinance and amendment of an annexation agreement and PUD ordinance, request The petitioners were advised this case No. 72-20P was stf~la change on the docket of the Judiciary Committee and would be cd,n-the zoning sidered on March 1st, and a recommendation would be made to ordinance the Village Board on March 6th. Huntington Commons r. Dalton, a member of the JayCees, discussed "Project Breakthru" and requested the Board to consider an ~'Project ordinance amending the Building Code to make public ~reakthru¥ buildings more accessible for the physically handicapped by providing ramps and other conveniences on the interior and exterior. COMMITTEE CHAIRMEN REPORTS FINANCE COMMITTEE trustee Richardson, seconded by Trustee Ahem, moved to waive the rules requiring two readings of an ordinance relating to the Business License Code. FIRE AND POLICE COMMITTEE The Fire and Police Committee recommended passage of a revised ordinance regarding warrants for stop and yield signs. Trustee Scholten, seconded by Trustee Ahern, moved to concur with the Committee's recommendation for passage of the ordinance as submitted. The Fire and Police Committee recommended reduction of the height allowable for plantings on the public right-of-way from 48 inches to 36 inches. COMMITTEE ANNOUNCEMENTS Judiciary Committee - March 1 Building Committee - February 28 Committee Announcements Trustee Furst, seconded by Trustee Richardson, moved to ratify the action of the Yillage Attorney in lending the Village name as participat±ng in a municipal brief regarding special service districts. Oak Park tried, under home rule powers, to create a special service district and was denied by the courts. Oth~ municipalities are also participating.
