INVOCATION Trustee Wattenberg gave the invocation. Upon roll call: Ayes: Floros Hendricks Minton Rhea Richardson Wattenberg Motion carried. COMMUNICATIONS AND PETITIONS Mr. Stanley May, representing Salvatore DiMucci, architect for Mt. Shire Apartments, showed proposed plans for a garage addition 30' x 40' designed compatibly with the surrounding buildings for the purpose of servicing the area. This PUD was granted under a Consent Decree, and therefore the garage was a matter for Board consideration. The plans were referred to the Building Department for recommendations and report as to conformation to various codes, ~nd'the Village Attorney was requested to prepare an amendment to the Consent Decree if the structure is compatible. Mr. A. J. Appel, 505 N. Elmhurst and Mrs~ Marie Prime, 507 N. Elmhu~st, appeared before the Board regarding property at 304 Memory Lane, and the residence thereon which had beer MEMORY LANE damaged by fire. A petition containing 34 names was pre- PROPERTY sented to the Board requesting demolition of the building. Mrs. Prime gave information tbet~6 Village Attorney regarding persons to contact who have an interes~ in the property and are willing to cooperate with the Village. TrusteesMinton, seconded by Trustee Floros, moved to waive the rules to consider an ordinance based on Home Rule powers which would grant the Village authority to demolish or repair buildings. Trustee Hendricks, seconded by Trustee Richardson, moved to waive the rules requiring two readin§s of an ordinance as stated above. Mr. Frank Reis, President of the Mount Prospect Lions Club, appeared before the Board and advised that the club will donate the money for the cost of the entire project 9f the waterfall being erected under the water tower at the North- WATERFALL west Highway and Evergreen in memory of former Police Chief George Whittenberg. Trustee Flor'os, seconded by Trustee Hendricks, moved the Village Board agree to the dedication of the park at the foo~ of the water t~wer in memory of George Whitt~nberg, with the understanding that maintenance of the property would be at the cost of the Village. Trustee Floros, seconded by Trustee Hendricks moved to waive the fees for the Lions club carnival with the exception of out of pocket Village expense. Upon roll call: Ayes: Floros Hendri~k~ Minton Rhea Richmrdson Wattenberg Motion carried. MAYOR'S REPORT Mayor Teichert proclaimed the weeken~ of June 21-22 as Mount Prospect Baseball Weekend. Mayor Teichert proclaimed June 18-:2l to honor the American Hearing Impaired Hockey As,sociation, Inc. Mayor Teichert proclaimed the week of June 22 through June 28 as Sanitarians' Week. MANAGER'S REPORT The Board of Local Improvement request for a study of "Public Benefits for, Sidewalks" was referred to the PuBlic Works Committee. THe Village En§ineer and Village Man§ger recommended that Milburn Bros. be awarded the contract for the i.mprovement IMPROVEMENT of Lonnquist Blvd., the project known as 54-CS, for the OF LONNQUIST low bid in the amount of~$1.35,809.80. Trustee Minton, seconded by Trustee Richardson, moved to authorize and approve the awarding of the contract for the improvement of Eonnpuist Blvd. (54-CS) to Milburn Brothers for $125,809.80. Upon roll call: Ayesk Floros Hendricks Minton Rhea Rich. ardson Wattenberg Motion Carried. Trustee Hendricks, seconded by Trustee Minton, moved to authorize the Mayor ~o sign and the Clerk to attest the Milburn contract and to return the bid checks with the MILBURN exception of the two lowest Bid~ers,- Milb~rn and JohnsoR CONTRACT P~ving, until awarding of the contract. COMMITTEE CHAIRMBN REPORTS BUILDING ~OMMITTEE Calabrese plat of subdivision of property located at West Willow qoad within a mile and one-haqf o~ the'Village CALABRESE limits was presented. Trustee Hendricks, seconded by Trustee Floros, moved to concur with the recommendation of the B Building Committee and authorize the Mayor to sign and the ' Clerk to attest the CaTabrese plat of subdivision. Upon roll call: Ayes: Floros Hendricks Minton Rhea Richardson Wattenberg Motion carried. A petition was presented by Mrs. Ruseell Morris, W. T. Ciofani, Samuel Listopad, Lois H. Henk and Blanche E. ~oun]g~ stating that two lots of the Callero & Catino Resubdivision are incompatible with the others which are 100 ft. minimum. Mr. Catino ~ated he, is negotiating with the property owner concerning the property abutt,ing his pmoperty. ZBA-49-V-74 Randhurst Corp. variation for free-standing building on shopping center. ~he Building Committee recommends .concurrence with the Z~nin§ Board of Appe~als,, 49-V-74 and Trustee Hendricks, seconded by Trustee Wattenberg, RANDHURST CORP moved the Village Board concur with the Building Committee report in Case ZBA-49-V-74 to grant the variation for a free standi~ng buildin§ ~or the purpo, se of constmuction of a restaurant known as "Sign of the Beefeater'". Attorney Bernard, F. Lee presented threeepetition$ of pr~- test signed by ten persons ob,je,'~ting ~to the proposed annexa- tion. Mr. Harry Ajis representing Mr~ Semar stated four homes were to be erected on the property, if annexed. The Village attorney was requested to prepare an ordinance for the next regular meeting July 1, 1975. FIRE AND POLICE COMMITTEE Trustee Floros rep~ted on various projects considered by the Fire and Police Committee, including an offer by the Mount Prospect Targeteers to reloa~ ammunition used by the Police Dept. in practice and competition, the Rte. 83 "S" curve project, purchase of police radio equipment. Trustee Floros, seconded by Trustee Richardson, moved to waive bids and proceed with the purchase of 12 portable radios and one motorcycle radio at a total cost of $18,385.48. The Village Manager was requested to check the matter andrreport back to the Board at the next mgeting} The Judiciary Committee will consider, the subject of mobile homes, Conflict of ~nterest ordinance, Parking Lot ordinance PARKING OF and Litigation at Palm & Tamarack at the July 14, 1975 meeting.MOBILE HOMES PUBLIC HEALTH AND SAFETY COMMITTEE The committee recommended acceptance of the low bid bubmitted by Pinner Electric Co. in the amount of $95 per month per traffic signal maintenance per intersection, or $13,680 per year for all intersections i~volved, Acceptance of the bid PINNER ELEC. was al.so recommended by the Village Engineer. Trustee Richardso~O. LOW BID seconded by Trustee Wattenberg, recommended Board con- currence to award the contract for traffic signal main- tenance to Pinner Electric Co. as stated. The Illinois Department of Transportation requested sharing equally the maintenB~:e cost of traffic signals at the inter- section of River Road and Kensington, after the state has completed widening of the intersection and modernization of the traffic signal. The 'Committee recommended acceptance of the agreement and to authorize the ~Mayor to sign the agreemen~ and the Clerk to attest. Acceptance ha~ also been recommended by the Village engineer Trustee Richardson, seconded by Trustee wattenberg, moved to concur in the above recomm6ndation. Trustee Richardson rqquested an ordinance be drafted prohibiting parking on the approaches which are within the Village limits for a distance of 250 ft. from the intersection of River Road -- and Kensington, in compliance wBth the request of the Illinois Department of Transportation. OTHER BUSINESS McLean Res~bdivision plat of property at Central and Willer: known as the former Culligan property was presented. Mr. James Viger, architect, r~quested the Board con~ider issuance of a building permit before recording of the plat becaus'e it was registered with t'he To~rre~s System and it would take several weeks to accompli's.~.
