MEETING OF THE MAYOR
AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES
June 27, 1978
CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Krause called the meeting to order at 8:02 P.M.
INVOCATION
Trustee Murauskis gave the invocation.
ROLL CALL
Present upon roll call: Mayor Krause Trustees Floros
Hendricks Murauskis
Richardson Wattenberg
Absent: Trustee Minton
SPECIAL HEARING AND DISCUSSION RE POSSIBLE INTERVENTION
IN ARLINGTON HEIGHTS LAW SUIT CONCERNING DEVELOPMENT ON
GOLF AND GOEBBERT ROADS
Mayor Krause gave a. brief history on the area involved
noting the Metropblitan Housing Development Corporation
has a low income proposal for that land, presently located in
unincorporated Cook County.
That auea has a history of flooding and such a development
would cause a severe problem for the residents, therefore
Mayor Krause requested discussion from the members of
the Board relative to the intervention in a pending law
suit brought by the Metropolitan Housing Development Corp.
against the Village of Arlington Heights.
Mr. Tokarski, President of the Forest View Civic Association,
spoke to the Board relative to the various problems presently
existing in the area of the proposed development stating
such a project would cause additional flooding, traffic,
and possibly declining property value.
Trustee Wattenberg, seconded by Trustee Murauskis, moved
to authorize the Village of Mount Prospect to spend
reasonable and necessary attorney fees and intervene in
the pending law suit, and to retain outside counsel
Marlin Smith to file an appearance on behalf of the Village
of Mount Prospect and do all things necessary to protect
and defend the interests of the Village of Mount Prospect.

Nays: None
Motion carried.
Mayor Krause then adjourned to an Executive Session for the
purpose of discussing other pending litigation.
The meeting went into ExecutiVe Session at 8:18 P.M.
Following the Executive Session, Mayor Krause reconvened
the meeting at 8:58 P.M.

Absent: Minton
Trustee Richardson, seconded by Trustee Murauskis, moved
to authorize outside council' Marlin Smith to file suit
against the Metropolitan Sanitary District of Greater
Chicago on behalf of the Village of Mount Prospect as a
member of the Class of all users of the sanitary sewer
system which was the subject matter of an MSD bond issue
for wrongful diversion of funds.

Trustee Murauskls, seconded by Trustee Hendricks, moved
to adjourn the meeting.
