May 8, 1979
CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Krause called the meeting to order at 8:05 P .M.
INVOCATION
The invocation was given by Trustee Farley.
ROLL CALL

The Village Board reviewed the Firmnce Commission's report relative
to the proposed participation in the Intergovernmental Risk
Management Agency (IRMA). The Finance Commission had recommended
that the Village Board authorize membership in the Intergovernmental
Risk Management Agency; to establish a reserve account to cover
the possibility of premium increases due to the loss experience of
IRMA; and to initiate a comprehensive loss prevention program in
concert with the adminstration of IRMA. The report also brought up
areas of concern, such as the fact that IRMA is a relatively new concept;
the forms and amounts of coverage; and the fact that the Village of
Mount Prospect ~ although one of the larger contributors, would only
have one vote in setting policies.
The V~!~ge Board considered these recommendations and discussed
the various areas of concern. Mr. Jim Gault of Gallagher and Company,
Mr. Bill Radtke, of Radtke Insurance, .Finance Director Jesse, and
Assistant Manager Geick responded by various questions.
Trustee FloroS, seconded by Trustee Murauskis, moved to waive
the rule requiring two readings of an ordinance (authorizing
participation in IRMA)

Motion carried.
Trustee Flor°s, seconded by Trustee Miller, moved for passage of
Ordinance NO. 2908
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING MEMBERSHIP IN THE
INTERGOVERNMENTAL RISK MANAGEMENT AGENCY
Upon roll call: Ayes: Farley Floros Miller Murauskis

Nays: Wattenberg
Motion carried.
Trustee Farley, seconded by Trustee Floros, moved to designate
the V~!age Manager as the delegate to represent the Village of
Mount Prospect, and the Assistant Village Manager to be the
alternate delegate, to the Intergovernmental Risk Management Agency.
Upon roll call: Ayes: Farley Floros Miller Murauskis
Wattenberg Krause
Nays: None
Motion carried.
Trustee Murauskis, seconded by Trustee Floros, moved to authorize
the disbursement of $109,743 for the first years contribution to the
Intergovernmental Risk Management Agency, which expenditure would
cover membership through December 31, 1979.

Motion carried.
Mayor Krause then asked the representative of Gallagher and Company,
Jim Gault, to explain the withdrawl of a bid submitted and accepted by
the Village Board relative to Bonds, in the amount of $750.00.
Mr. Gault noted he would discuss the matter with Gallgher and Company
after which he would be in contact with the Village Manager to discuss
the matter.
Mayor Krause adjourned the meeting into Executive Session at 9:35 P.M.
for the purpose of discussing land acquisition.
The meeting was reconvened at 10:50 P.M.
