MAYOR'S REPORT S_UNRISE PANCAKE Mayor Krause presented a request received from Sunrise HOUSE -'LIQUOR Panc~ake House, 903 East Rand Road, for the creation of .L.ICENSE .REQUEST a Class "R" liquor license. Inasmuch as the health (~903 E. Rand Rd.) inspection indicated several areas to be corrected, the matter was continued to the August 4th Village Board meeting in order to give the owner time to rectify the problems. A request had been received to transfer the existing FOUR SEASONS Class "B" liquor license issued to the Four Seasons R. ESTAURANT - Restaurant to new owners. _LIQUOR LICENSE ,T. RANSFER Trustee Miller, seconded by Trustee Arthur, moved to 299 W. Central Rd. transfer the existing Class ~B" liquor license to J & V Corporation. LOUIS ST._ An Ordinance Granting Specified Variations for Property Located at 218 South Louis Street had its first reading and will be presented August 4th for second reading. CABLE T.V. FRANCHISE ~ _ Trustee Farley, seconded by Trustee Floros, moved for passage of Resolution No. 27-81 C~.AB LENET, INC. A RESOLUTION TO APPROVE AND AUTHORIZE THE RES. NO. 27-81 EXECUTION OF A FRANCHISE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT AND CABLENET, INC. NEW BUSINESS An Ordinance Annexing Territory North of Rand Road and ANNEX. REESE'S East of Gregory Street Extended (Reese Property), to the PROPERTY Village of Mount Prospect, had its first reading and will be presented August 4th for second reading. An Ordinance was presented authorizing the sale of 18 SALE OF PROPERTY ~ plectron radio receivers formerly used by the Fire Department. ~Fire Dept. - Plectr¢ It was noted that the equipment proposed' for sale was nearly .Radi.o Receivers.) i 20 years old, obsolete and has since been replaced. Trustee Wattenberg, seconded by Trustee Arthur, moved to waive the rule requiring two readings of an ordinance in order to take action on the proposed ordinance. Trustee Arthur, seconded by Trustee Murauskis, moved for ORD. ,NO. 3127 passage of Ordinance No. 3127 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF PERSONAL PROPERTY OWNED BY THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT Upon roil call: Ayes: Arthur Farley Floros Murauskis Wattenberg ~--' Nays: Miller Motion carried. MANAGER'S REPORT BIDS: Assistant Village Manager Ed Geiek presented the bid results WELLER CREEK for the Waller Creek chsnnel improvement (tabulation sheets .IMPROVEMENT attached to these minutes). It was the recommendation of the administration to accept the Page Three July 21, 1981 low bid submitted by Nagel Excavating, Inc. in the amount of $203,001 and to authorize retaining an outside engineer to oversee the project. NAGLE EXCAVATING. Trustee Miller,' seconded by Trustee Floros, moved to accept the low bid submitted by Nagle Excavating, Inc. for the Weller Creek channel improvement at a cost not to exceed $203,001. CREEK: .RETAiN Trustee Floros, seconded by Trustee Wattenberg, moved ENGINEER to authorize entering into a contract with an engineering consultant for the Weller Creek channel improvement at a cost not to exceed $18,000. Upon roll call: Ayes: Farley Floros Miller Mur suskis Wattenberg Nays: None Present: Arthur Motion carried. SEMAR'S SUB. Joe Runtz, the developer for Semar's Subdivision (Chris Lane at Meier Road), requested the Board to waive a requirement of the Development Code for two street lights within a subdivision of this type, It ~ was stated that the original engineering plans indicated ~ the location of the two street lights, however, a street light had been placed on the west side of Meier Road, not within the Semar's Subdivision, which could off-set the need for the street light at the approved location. It was also stated that several residents of the subdivision have requested the two lights be required however a location agreeable to all parties could not be determined. Trustee Murauskis, seconded by Trustee Miller, moved to concur with the requirement for two street lights within the Semar's Subdivision, pursuant to the Development Code, and that the actual location of the two street lights would be agreed upon by the Director of Public Works and the developer. Upon roll call: Ayes: Arthur Floros Miller Mur auskis Wattenberg Nays: Farley Motion carried. ~ WELL #1.7 Mr. Geick noted that at the last Board meeting, authorization was given to have emergency repairs done at Well #17 _ (Camp McDonald and Elmhurst Road), however a motion would be in order to waive the bidding process in order to undertake the work. Trustee Wattenberg, seconded by Trustee Arthur, moved to waive the bidding process and authorize emergency July 21, 1981 Page Four epairs to Well #17 'at a cost not to exceed $75,000. Assistant Manager Geick reported that the proposals for .PAINTING: ~ATER an engineer to oversee the painting of the water storage STORAGE TANK tank at Northwest Highway and Maple Streets have not been completed.
