COMMUNICATIONS AND PETITIONS - CITIZENS TO BE HEARD .~.P.STATE BANK Mr. John Dorn, Vice President of the Mount Prospect 'RUN FOR THE State Bank, requested permission to conduct the first MONEY' annual Run for the Money. It was stated that the run would be for the benefit of Northwest Community Hospital. It was the opinion of the Village Board that the Village would endorse such an event. 124 MAYOR'S REPORT Mayor Krause proclaimed the week of October 3 FIRE PREVENTION thru 9 as Fire Prevention Week. A request for a Class "R" liquor license was presented for property located at Northwest AMEND CH. 11 Highway and Wille Street, formerly the W.-NORTHWEST HWY, Dunkin Donut,building. It was stated that there Class '~" would be seating capacity for 90 patrons, between tables, counter and booths. Trustee Floros, seconded by Trustee Wattenberg, moved to authorize the creation of an additional Class "R" liquor license for the pancake house to be located at Northwest Highway & Wille Street. ELMHURST RD.1500 South Elmhurst Road (Show Biz Pizza) was Class "W" continued to later in the meeting. AMEND CH. 11 A request for a Class "R" liquor license for 821 E. RAND RD. property located at 821 E. Rand Road (formerly Class "R" jo jos) was presented. There being no representative present, the request was continued to the October 5th meeting. ~ITIGATION: A Resolution and proposed Consent Decree was O'HARE AIRPORT presented as settlement of the O'Hare Airport litigation, Case No. 74 C 2410. Trustee Arthur, seconded by Trustee Floros, moved to accept the low bid submitted by Klehm Bros for the landscaping on the Commonwealth Edison right-of-way, in an amount not to exceed $11,247.50. Rurke Roofing Inc. 69,745.00 (Alternate bid: Single-ply membrance roof) 98,401.00 Trustee Arthur, seconded by Trustee Miller, moved to VAN DOORN accept the low bid submitted by Van Doorn Roofing, Inc. for replacing the Public Works building roof, in an amount not to exceed $68,000.00. NEW BUSINESS MAMIYA DR. Joe Clancy,representing Opus (formerly Rauenhorst .NAME CHANGE Corporation) requested the Village Board to consider changing the street name of a portion of Mamiya Drive so that the stem of the cul de sac would remain Mamiya Court and the bulb of the cul de sac would become Biermann Circle. Trustee Floros, seconded by Trustee Miller, moved to authorize the street name change as requested. Upon roll call: Ayes: Arthur Farley Floros Miller Murauskis Wattenberg Nays: None Motion carried. An ordinance will be presented at the October 5th meeting for first reading. FIRE DEPT. An ordinance was presented for first reading that TRAINING would authorize participation in a specified training program for the Fire Department. Trustee Miller, seconded by Trustee Arthur, moved to waive the rule requiring two readings on an ordinance in order to take action on the ordinance. ZBA 23-V-82 ZBA 23-V-82, 1761 Corktree Lane 1761 CO~KTREE LNThis request for a variation from the minimum rear yard requirement in order to construct a room addition was presented. The Zoning Board of Appeals recommended denial of the request. Trustee Farley, seconded by Trustee Arthur, moved to approve the request to allow a 13 ft. encroachment into the rear yard in order to contruct a room addition. Elmhurst Road ZBA 26-SU-82 This request for a special use was submitted to permit 1500 S. ELMHURST R~ more than 6 amusement devices. The Zoning Board of Appeals recommended denial. Howard Siegle, 2 N. La Salle Street, Chicago, attorney for the petitioner presented the request. Carolyn Shine, 512 Na Wa Ta, Mel Krumry, 817 S~ We Go, and HoWard Stewart, 1831 Tano, spoke on the subject. Also in line with the above requests for Show Biz AMEND CH. 11 Pizza, a request for an amendment to Chapter 11, governing the age of patrons of establishments with liquor licenses being 21 in order to use game machines. Trustee Wattenberg, seconded by TrUstee Farley, moved to amend Article VII of Chapter 11, and to allow those 18 years of age and older to use.game machines without being accompanied by a parent. ZBA 29-Z-82, 33 West Kensington Road ~ This request is for re-zoning from B-3 to R-1. The 33 W.KENSINGTON RD Zoning Board of Appeals recommended denial of the request. A petition with 21 signatures was presented by Lawrence Burger in support of the requested R-1 zoning. AMEND CH. 20 An Ordinance Amending Article V Entitled "Meter WATER RATES User Rates" of Chapter 20 of the Village Code, increasing the water rates, had its first reading and will be presented October 5 for 2nd reading. AMEND CH. ~7 An Ordinance Increasing Vehicle License Fees STICKER FEES Amending Chapter 17 of the Village Code, had its first reading and will also'be presented October 5th for second reading. Sept. 21, 1982 Page Six Trustee Farley proposed that the senior citizen vehiCle sticker cost be increased from $1.00 to ·$7.50. This matter will be discussed at the next Board meeting. A request was presented to authorize the Circuit JUDGEMENt: Court to accept an increased amount as full AMOUNT ACCEPTED AS _ settlement of a judgement. The present agreement F L T with the Circuit Court is $30.00 and it was proposed to increase that amount to $50.00. Trustee Wa~tenberg, seconded by Trustee Miller, moved to authorize the Circuit Court to accept $50.00 in full settlement of judgements issued against residents of Mount Prospect. ANY OTHER BUSINESS COOK COUNTY LOW A request was submitte~ foY the Village to participate COST MORTGAGE in the Cook County Single-Family Mortgage Loan PROGRAM Program, which program would offer a certain amount of money to any resident not having owned a home within the past 3 years, with the interest rate being lower than the conventional mortgage.
