APRIL 26, 1988
CALL TO ORDER CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Krause called the regular meeting of the
Village Board to order at 7:30 P.M.

Present upon roll call: Mayor Carolyn H. Krause
Trustee Ralph Arthur
Trustee Gerald Farley
Trustee Leo Floros
Trustee Norma Murauskis
Trustee George Van Geem
Absent: Trustee Theodore Wattenberg

The invocation was given by Trustee Murauskis.
OLD BUSINESS
An Ordinance was presented for second reading that would
amend Chapter 4 by changing the names of the Management
Servics Department to Finance, Community Development to
Planning and Zoning, and by creating a new department,
known as Inspection Services as well as making the
necessary changes to combine the Code Enforcement
Department and Engineering Division into the Inspection
Services.
Trustee Floros asked if additional employees would be
placed on the payroll as a result of the creation of
this new department. Village Manager Dixon stated that
three additional employees would be necessary.
Trustee Floros expressed his concern that additional
employees has been an issue of concern to the Board ,
and stated that he did not support the additional of 3
employees.
Trustee Arthur, seconded by Trustee Murauskis, moved for
passage of Ordinance No. 3931
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SPECIFIED SECTIONS OF
CHAPTER 4 OF THE VILLAGE CODE
Upon roll call: Ayes: Arthur, Farley, Murauskis, Krause
Nays: Floros, Van Geem
Motion carried.
Pursuant to proper legal notice having been published,
Mayor Krause called a Public Hearing to order at
7:30 P. M. The purpose of the Public Hearing was for
the purpose of presented the 1988/89 prior to adoption.
Mayor Krause noted that the proposed budget had been
thoroughly discussed over an 8 week period with
adjustments having been made at the direction of the
Village Board.
Trustee Floros stated that opposed the increase in
personnel which adds approximately $90,000 to the
budget.
here being no participation from the audience, the
Public Hearing was declared closed at 7:37 P.M.
Trustee Arthur, seconded by Trustee Farley, moved for
passage of Ordinance No. 3932
AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING AN ANNUAL BUDGET FOR
THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT FOR FISCAL YEAR
COMMENCING MAY 1, 1988 TO APRIL 30, 1989 IN
LIEU OF PASSAGE OF AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE
Upon roll call: Ayes: Arthur, Farley, Floros,
Murauskis, Van Geem
Nays: None
Motion carried.
ADJOURNMENT
Trustee Farley, seconded by Trustee Arthur, moved to
adjourn the Special Meeting.
Upon roll call: Ayes: Unanimous
MOtion carried.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:52 P.M.
