HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes 17A-63 05/28/1963 RESOLUTION NO. 171\-63 A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE POLICY OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT AS TO THE ISSUANCE OF LIQUOR LICENSES WHEREAS, there has from time to time been concern over the number and manner of liquor licenses authorized to be issued in the Village of Mount Prospect, and WHEREAS, there have been numerous requests for the issuance of new liquor licenses, and WHEREAS, it is to the benefit and advantage of the President and Board of Trustees that there be a clear definition of policy as to additional liquor licenses to be authorized. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect, Cook County, Illinois: Section 1. That the Village of Mount Prospect will consider authorization of liquor licenses only in the following situations: (1) Where the County of Cook has issued a liquor license to an owner or operator and the Village of Mount Prospect has annexed the property to which said liquor license has in fact been iss- ued, inasmuch as the Village of Mount Prospect is by Illinois law required to honor such existing licenses. (2) Where a petitioner for annexation to the Village of Mount Prospect stipulates as a condition to annexation that a liquor license be granted and the area seeking annexation includes a significant business development which, if annexed to the Village, whould benefit its residents by providing additional sales tax moneys and which would serve an additional population area. Section 2. That this resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval according to law. PASSED and APPROVED this TrlENTY-EIGHT day of Hay, 1963. Clarence O.
