"3 'l- to 3 A RESOLUTION DIRECTED TO THE COUNTY CLERK OF COOK COUNTY FOR TRANSMITTAL TO THE COOK COU1ffY BOARD OF CO~TI~ISSIONERS OBJECTING TO THE REZONING OF CERTAIN PROPERIT DES I GNATED BY THE ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS OF COOK COUNTY AS DOCKET 632. SAID PROPERTY BEING IN Vll-l~~LING TOWNSHIP. NOY\T, THEREPOffi~, BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect, Cook County, Illinois: Section 1. The Village of Mount Prospect does hereby object to the rezoning of the following described property: The South 88 feet of the North 462 feet (except the East 400 feet thereof) of that part of the Southeast Quarter of the Northeast Quarter of Section 34, Town- ship 42 North, Range 11, East of the Third Principal Meridian, lying East of Rand Roadl in Cook County, Illinois. from its present classification of R-4 Single Family Residence to B-5 General Commercial District, said property being approxi- mately .79 acres on the northeasterly side of Rand Road in Wheeling Township, it being the understanding of the President and Board of Trustees that said property, if rezoned, would be used for an Auto Body Shop; for reasons that: - 1 - The area in question as well as surrounding area is zoned residential and although there are non-conforming uses around the property it is the evident purpose of the single family residence zoning to do away, over a period of time, with objectionable non-conforming uses. 2 - The permitting of the Auto Body Shop at the location mentioned and an extension thereof by the rezoning of said property would constitute spot zoning, would void the principle of the Cook County Zoning Ordinance to do away with such objectio- nable uses and would have adverse impact upon the future development of Rand Road which is becoming a high quality business area in the vicinity of Randhurst. Consequently, the Village of Mount Prospect requests that this rezoning request to B-5 for the purpose of developing an Auto Body Shop should be turned down. Section 2. That the Village Attorney is hereby authorized and directed to transmit this resolution to the County Clerk, the Cook County Zoning Board of Appeals, and other interested persons. Section 3. This resolution shall. be in full force and effect from and. after its passage and approval a.ccording to law. ../ (Q (LEJ.tA/ PASSED this J ~ day of , 1963 APPROVED t hi s / ~/ day of (Q fl1:tJUV , 1963 ~ ('" ~ ~.,. @" ~ Pres ident _ . ~ ~TTEST : ~ ~/. iJJ~~ Village Clerk
