RESOLUTION No. 13-65
II
A STATEMENT OF POLICY OF BOARD OF TRUSTEES REGARDING
PRESS AND PUBLIC
BE IT RESOLVED, that this Village Board of the Villape of
Mount Prospect is of the opinion:
That the Village Manager should prepare, or have prepared,
on a regular basis, written reports concerning the various depart-
ment functions and activities, and that such reports be continually
available to the press and the public in a prescribed place and
manner;
That th~ Village Manager should adopt and set forth a pro-
cedure whereby public records and documents can be obtained and
examined by the press and public upon request, it being the opinion
of this Board that files, records, and employee working areas are
not to be accessible to the press and the public except as authorized
and within such procedure;

That the Village Manager should adopt and set forth rules and
regulations concerning the conduct of Village employees whereby all
questions and inquiries from the press and public beyond that which
an employee is required to answer in discharge of his ~pecific duties,
be referred to the Village Manager, or a specific department head,
for comment and disposition.
