HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes 31-65 11/02/1965 RESOLUTION 31-65 WHEREAS, George Whittenberg has devoted 33 years of faithful and dedicated service to the Village of Mount Prospect, during of which years he has served the Village loyaly and well as its Chief of Police, and \1HEREAS, the said George Whittenberg has through the years made Mount Prospect a better place to live through his constant efforts to better secure the safety of its citizens in their homes and on the streets, and WHEREAS, said George Whittenberg has given whole- heartedly and unstintingly of his time and efforts, above and beyond the call of ordinary duty, to the protection of the citizens of the Village of Mount Prospect, and WHEREAS, the citizens of the Village of Mount Prospect are deeply indebted to George Whittenberg for his many years of unselfish and distinguished service to the community, and WHEREAS, said George Whittenberg has retired from the service of the Village of Mount Prospect as its Police Chief effective November 1, 1965, and WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect desire to express to George Whittenberg, on behalf of all the citizens of the community, their gratitude to him for his long, dedicated and distinguished service as Chief of Police, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, ILLINOIS: That by this Resolution the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect express to Chief of Police George Whittenberg their deep gratitude for his many years of dedicated, -. . , -2- faithful~ and distinguished service as Chief of Police of the Village of Mount Prospect; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that as a perpetual memento a copy of this Resolution be spread upon the minutes of the Board of Trustees~ and that a certified copy of it be suitably inscribed upon parchment and delivered to Chief Whittenberg; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval in the manner provided by law.
