RESOLUTION 8-68
A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING THE VILLAGE OF MOUNI' PROSPECT INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT
AND ECONOMIC COMMISSION
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of
Mount Prospect are aware of the constant growth and developnent in the
northwest area of Cook County; and
WHEREAS, an integral part of this development for the establishnent
of the growth of industrial enterprises wi thin the various ccmmuni ties
located in the northwest area of Cook County; and
WHEREAS, there are certain properties within the Village of Mount
Prospect with the characteristics of being developed in an orderly fashion
for industrial uses; and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount
Prospect feet the necessity of establishing a commission for the purpose of
exploring the industrial development in and about the corporate limits of the
Village of Mount Prospect; and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees believe that the proper
approach in this area is to achieve a plan through various residents of the
Village of Mount Prospect well-versed in this field; and
WHEREAS, said commission shall have for its purpose and goal the
development of a plan to 1mplement the proper industrial development and
establish economic balance within the corporate limits of the Village of Mount
Prospect;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENI' AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION 1: There is hereby established a citizens ccmnission which
shall be known as the "Industrial Development and Economic Coomission of the
Village of Mount Prospect" for the purpose of establishing a plan to implement
the proper industrial development and economic balance within the corporate
limits of the Village of Mount Prospect. Said Ccmnission shall make its
findings and recormnendations to the President and Board of Trustees in the
manner prescribed herein.
SECTION 2: The membership of the Industrial Developnent and Econanic
Cornmission shall be composed of five (5) residents of the Village of Mount
Prospect, one of which shall be elected Chairman. '!he appointments to this
Cormnission shall be made by the President with the advice and consent of the
Board of Trustees. In the determination of such appointments, consideration
shall be given to the appointees t background relating to industry and commerce.
'!he term of office to this Cormnission shall be for a period of three (3) years.
However, members appointed at the onset shall be for the fOllowing terms;
2 members for a 3 year term
2 members for a 2 year term
1 member for a 1 year term
Successors to be appointed for three (3) year. terms. In addition to the five
(5) members of this Commission, the Village President shall serve as an
ex-officio member. The Chairman of the Plan Ccmnission of the Village of
Mount Prospect, or his designee, shall also be an ex-officio member of this
Commission.

SEc:rION 3: The Industrial Development and Economic Conmission shall
make periodic reports on its progress and findings and shall make its
recommendations to the President and Board of Trustees regularly. but not less
than every six (6) months.
SECTION 4: 'l'he Industrial Development and Economic Conrnission of the
Village of Mount Prospect shall be operative until such time as the purposes
for which it was intended have been achieved.
SEc:rION 5: This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage and approval in the manner provided by law.
