RESOLUI'ION NO. 30-68
A RESOLt.1rION AUTHORIZING THE MOUNT PROSPECT BOARD OF FIRE AND POLICE
COJVMISSIONERS 'ID ESTABLISH RULES AND REGULATIONS REGARDING THEIR AarIVrrIES
WHEREAS, the Illinois Revised Statutes in Chapter 2lt, Division
10-2 deals with the statutory requirements governing Boards of Fire and
Police Corrmissioners of municipalities; and
WHEREAS, the Illinois Revised Statutes specifically state that
the rules of such Boards of Fire and Police Coomlssioners shall be
authorized by the governing body of the municipality; and
WHEREAS, The Board of Fire and Police Comnissioners of the Village
of Mount Prospect have reviewed, codified, and revised the existing rules
and regulations of the Board of Fire and Police Conmissioners of the Village
of IVbunt Prospect; and
WHEREAS, said rules include the qualifications for members to the
Board of Fire and Police Comnissioners; duties of said Conmission; goals
of said Conmission; rules and standards for the appointment of members to
the Fire and Police Departments; rules and regulations regarding proIlDtions
within the Fire and Police Departments; rules and regulations regarding
hearings before the Board of Fire and Police Conmissioners; and the list
of offenses which shall fall within the jurisdiction of the Board of Fire
and Police Commissioners; and
WHEREAS, the Fire and Police Conmi ttee of the Board of Trustees of
the Village of Mount Prospect have reviewed said rules and recorrmend
that the President and Board of Trustees authorize the Board of Fire
and Police Conmissioners of the Village of Mount Prospect adopt same; and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village
of Mount Prospect believe that the best interests of the Village of Mount
Prospect will be served by the authorization of said rules;
NON, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD
OF TRUSTEES OF THE VIlLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, IILINOIS:
SECTION ONE: That the "Establishment of the Board and Rules
Goveming Examinations, Appointments. Promotions, and Hearings in the Fire
and Police Departments" as reviewed, codified, and revised by the Board of
Fire and Police Conmissioners of the Village of Mount Prospect, a copy
of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof, be authorized by
the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect.
SEarION '!WO: That the Clerk is hereby authorized to cause
to be pUblished the necessary legal notice stating the places where
the printed rules may be obtained and of the date not less than ten
(10) days subsequent to the date of publication when the rules herein
shall go into operation.
