RESOLUTION NO. 6-69
A RESOLUTION IN SUPPORr OF STAGE IV
OF THE IMPROVE1'lIENT OF 1;lELLER CREEK
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of
Mount Prospect are concerned with the upgmding of Weller Creek down-
stream and through the Village of Mount Prospect to alleviate flooding
conditions and oonditions creating noxious odors and nuisances; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works and Buildings,
Waterways Division, of the State of Illinois, has prepared certain
drawings for completion of a five-stage program for the improvement of
Weller Creek; and
WHEREAS, Stages I, II, and III have been or are about to be
completed; and
WHEREAS, both the House of Representatives and the Senate
of the State of Illinois have passed and approved and the Governor has
sigped into law Bills for the improvement of the said Stages I, II, and
III.
WHEREAS, the completion of Stage IV would greatly alleviate the
nooding conditions, noxious odors, and nuisances arising from Weller
Creek through and about the Village of Mount Prospect; and
NOW, THEREFDRE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION ONE: That the President and Board of Trustees of
the Village of Mount Prospect fully supports the passage into law of
the House Bill to be submitted for the improvement of Weller Creek
Stage IV.
SECTION rrwO: That irrrnediately upon passage and approval of
the ReSOlution, the Village Clerk of the Village of Mount Prospect be
and is hereby authorized and directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution
to the District Representatives and Senators in the Illinois General
Assembly as well as to the Governor of the State of Illinois.
SECTION THREE: This Resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage and approval in the marmer provided by
law.
