RESOIJJrION NO. 12-69
A RESOIJJrIOO ACCEPrING THE OOUGATION OF GENERAL MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR
OF THE METI'ROPOLITAN SANITARY DISTRICI.' OF GREATER CHICAGO SANITARY SEWERS
WITHIN THE VILLAGE OF tJDUNT PROSPECI.'
WHEREAS, the representatives of the Village of M:.>unt Prospect and the
tletropolitan Sanitary District of Greater Chicago have conducted several
rreetings with respect to the general maintenance and repair of the
tletropolitan Sanitary District sanitary sewers within the corporate
limits of the Village of Mount Prospect j and
WHEREAS, title to said sewers are in the nane of the tletropolitan San-
itary District of Greater Chicagp as collateral for an existing bond
issue; and
WHEREAS, all parties concerned are cognizant of the mch needed contin-
ual general maintenance and repair of said sewer system; and
WHEREAS, certain funds are available for the general maintenance and
repair of sane, which funds are currently held by the Metropolitan
Sanitary District of Greater Chicago j ani
WHEREAS, it ..is the consensus of opinion of those parties who undertook
the study of the feasibility of the Public Works Departrrent of the
Village of Mount Prospect maintaining said sewers that this ~artment
could adequately do the general maintenance and repair of said sewer
system; and
WHEREAS, the fJetropolitan Sanitary District of Greater;.Chicago, through
its Board of Trustees, did approve a maintenance agreement on Mareb.
13, 1969 allowing the Village of Mount Prospect certain funds to re-
irrburse said Village for the general maintenance and repair of the
Metropolitan Sanitary District sanitary sewers within the Village of
lYbunt Prospect;
NOll, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENr AND OOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE VILLAGE OF MJUNT PROSPEOJ:1, COO}$: COUNrY, ILLINOIS:
SECrION 1: That the Village of M:.>unt prospect does hereby accept the
ob1igation for the general maintenance and repairs of the ~tropolitan
Sanitary District sanitary sewers within the corporate limits of the
Village of Mount Prospect on a fiscal year basis commencing May 1, 1969
for a one-year period to be extended yearly upon the nutual consent Of
the Village of Mount Prospect and the Metropolitan Sanitary District
of Greater Chicago.
BE IT FURrHER RESOLVED that the Village of Mount Prospect accepts the
proposed budget established by the Metropolitan Sanitary District of
Greater Chicago for the general maintenance and repair of the tletropol-
itan Sanitary District sanitary sewers within the Village of tlbunt
Prospect established at $37 ,250.00 for the fiscal year conmencing
lViIY I, 1969 with the understanding that future years' budgets will be
determined and negotiated based on experience.
BE IT FURIHER RESOLVED that the Village of Mount Prospect agrees that
if said agreement is terminated after one year or prior to the complete
reinbursenent from the Metropolitan Sanitary District of Greater Chicago
for capital expenditures the District will reimburse the Village of
lJbunt Prospect the funds necessary to satisfy the capital outlay expen-
ditures.
BE IT FURrHER RESOLVED that nothing in this agreenent sBiall be construed
to include major projects as defined by the Maintenance Division of the
Metropolitan Sanitary District of Greater Chicago, in which case the
obligation re!T@1ns with the Metropolitan Sanitary District of Greater
Chicago.
