An Ordinanoe for lioensing automobiles, wagons and other vehicles in the Village of Mount Pro~eot, Oook Oounty, Illinois. Be it Ordained by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospeot, Oook Oounty, Illinois: 8eotionPI- !hat it shall be unlawful for any person, firm or cor- poration to use or to oause or permit to be used by any of his or its agents or employees any wagon or other"'vehicle in the transportation of persons or property upon the streets, avenues or alleys of the Village of Mount Prospect, unless such wagon or vehicle be licensed as herein~ after provided. . Section-2- That any person, firm or corporation, desiring a license for any such wagon or vehicle shall file an applioation with the village olerk, upon form provided by him, setting forth the name and address of the applioant, a desoription of the wagon or vehicle for which the lioense is desired, and the place where such wagon or vehicle is to be kept when not in use; also the number and kinds of other wagons or vehicles kept by such applicant at such plaoe, and such other information a8 may . be prescribed; such application shall be transmitted to the President of the Board of Trustees of said village of Mount Prospect, and upon the payment by the applicant of the license fee hereinafter provided, to the Village Olerk, the President of the Village shall issue or cause to be issued a license, which shall be attested by the Village Olerk auth- orising the use of such wagon or vehicle within the Village until the experation of such license. All 8uoh license shall expire on the first day of May follow- J.ng the date of issue , and when issued for'..a p8riod of less than one Y8ar, the fe. to be paJ.d shall bear the same ratio to the sum reiuired for th~ .fal~ year that the number of months remaining (inolusive of the I month J.n whJ.oh the application is made) bears to the whole number of months in the year, provided however, that in no 08se shall th~.~~:e:::~ ~ ( ( . ~ '"...."'t<~ ""'-,&, ~ tor the fraction of a year be lesa than one dollar ($I~OO) All revenues derived from such license fees shall be kept in a separate fund, and used only for paying the cost and expense of street or alley improvments, repair or maintenance, Section~ 4 - That upon the exeoution of said licen.. the Village Clerk shall deliver to the applicant a metal plat. bearing a number and the name of the class to which said wagon or vehicle belongs and the year for which said license is issued, and it shall b. the duty of such applicant to affix such plate in a conspicuous place upon the right hand side of said wagon, vehicle or horse, where it can readily be seen, and it shall be unlawful for any wagon or vehicle although duly licensed to be used upon the streets, avenues or alleys of the village unless such plate is attached thereto, as aforesaid. PrOVided, however, that it shall not be necessary for any automobile, wagon or vehicle to bave the aforesaid metalplate attach.d to it except when actually in use upon the streets, avenues or alleys of said Villag.. Seotion~ 5 · That any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be fined not less than Five Dollars (.5.00) nor more than Two Hundred Dollars ($200.00)for each and every offence, and each day any wagon or vehicle is ,used upon the streets, avenues or alleys of the Village ot Mount Prospect without having co~lied with th provisions of this ordinance, shall be considered a separate and distinot offenoe. Section - 6 - All ordinances or parts of ordinances conflioting with the proVisions of this ordinaaoe, are hereby repealed as far as they oonflict herewith. Section - 7 - T~is ordinanoe shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publioation acoording to law. Passed this First day of July, A. D. 1919.
