BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount 'rospect, Cook Countyi., Illinois: Section 1. That article 3 under section VIII of an ordinance entitled "An ordinance providing for the regulation and manage- ment of the water work system of the village of Mt. Prospect, and establishing rules and regulations for the government of water consumers and others, and regulating connections ~Tith said system and establishing rates and charges and license fees for plumbers," "~he sum of $30.00 (Thirty DOllars) shall be paid in advance by each applicant for each separate service required to be placed, for which the villaee will furnish all the necessary pipes, cocks, valves and shut off box, cast iron service box ancl necessary labor to lay and construct such service pi~es, and which service pipes shall be constructed according to the following specifications" be and the same is hereby amened to read as follows; Section2. The sum of Thirty Five dollars ($35.00) shall be paid in advance by each appliQAn'lit for each separate service reruired to be placPfl for which the village will furnj.sh all the necessary pipes, cocks, valves and shut off box, cast iron service box and labor necessary to lay and construct such service pipes, and which service pipes shall be construct -ed according to the following s:pecificDtions. Section 3. Also that part of article b under section VIII of the above ordinance reading theTe-in as follows; Each of said pipes shall be connected with said water main pipe by a brass tap of three-fourths (i) of an inch diamter and a weight of not Ipss than twenty-three (23) ounces, and shall extend horizontally at right angles with said main water pipe to a point eighteen (18) feet from the center line of the street and shall be provided with a brass stop cock three- fourths (:> of an inch diamter and a weight of not less than twenty-three (23) ounces; and a spiral shut-off box of the best quality of cast iron of first grade steel pipe, of not less than one and one half inches (Ii") nor more that two and one half inches (2i") internal diamter and five (5) to six (6) feet in length, and if of cast iron, weighing twenty- eight pounds (28#), placed at a point seventeen feet (17') from the center of the street. On the top of the cover of said shut off box shall be cast the words "City Water". All cOT])oratlon and curb cocks used in connection with the water system shall be made of bronze which shall have the following composition: "Copper 83~ to 85(; Tin 4( to 6~; Zinc 4( to 6~; Lead not more than 4~." All casts shall be high grade, true to form and dimensions, smooth and free from all sand or blow- holes or other foundry defects, and all material used herein shall be of the best quality and subject to the approval of the Board of Local Im~rovements of the Village of Mount Prospeot be and the same is hereby amended to read as fol1ows:- Section 4. "Eaoh of said pipes shall be connected with said water main pipeby a brass tap of three-fourths (~) of an inch dia- meter and a weight of not less than twenty-three (23) ounces, and shall extend horizontally at rii:;ht angles with said main water pipe to a point twenty-one feet (21') from the center line of the street and shall be provided with a brass stop cook of three-fourths (~) of an inoh diamter and a weight of not less thatn twenty-three (23) ounces; and a spiral shut off box of the best quality of cast iron or first grade steel pipe, of not less than one and one half (It) inohes nor more than two and one half (2t) inches internal diameter and five(5) to six (6) feet in length, and if of cast iron, weigh- ing twenty-eight pounds (28#), placed at a !,oint twent~T feet (2()') from the center line of the street. On the top of the cover of said shut off box shall be cast the words "City water". All corpor- ation and curb cocks used in connection with the water system shall be made of bronze which shall have the following eomposition: Coyper 83~ to 85~; Tin 4~ to 6~; Zino 4~ to 6~; Lead not more than 4%.
