Samples of corporation cooks and stop oocks shall be submitted to the Board of Local Improvements of the Village of Mount Prospeot, for inspection and approval before installation. "'",", )~' The service pilpe shall be laid sufficiently waiving to allow not less than one (1) foot extra length in its entire length, and in such manner as to prevent rupture by settlement of tbe earth about it, .~uall be laid at a depth of at least fiy. Pipes shall be sUbjected to a hydrostatic pressure of one hundred and fifty (150) pounds per sqaare inch af:er the pipes are la1d and before any backfilling i8done, and each pipe 8hall be required to sustain this pressure for a period of ten (10) minutes without 1eakace b~fore the trench i8 backfilled. All earth removed in excavating for said water service pipes shall be returned to the trenches from which it was taken, and shall be replaced in layers not exceeding four (4) 1nches in depth; each layer" shall be thoroughly compacted ~ ramming, and the earth shall be moistened sufficiently to perm1t the return of all the earth to the trenches by be1ng rammed as above spec1fied. When completed the surface of the backf1ll1ng in the trenches shall not be h1gher than the general surface of the adjacent ground on either side of same and the roadway of street shall be left 1n as good cond1t1on for travel as it was before commencement of the work. All mater1als used in the construotion of this 1mprove- ment shall be of the best quality and suitable for the purpose for which they are intend'd to be used, and the entire improve- ment shall be constructea iaa good and workmanlike manner.
