MINUTES
VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT
CITIZEN CORPS COUNCIL
December 18, 2008
3:00 PM
POLICE AND FIRE BUILDING
The meeting was called to order at 3:00 PM. Those present:
Mike Figolah
John Dahlberg
Paul Valentine
Carol Lively
Irvana Wilks
Thomas Henderson
John Astreides
Mayor Wilks was elected as Chair by those present. Mayor Wilks asked Paul Valentine to serve
as Secretary.
After introductions, the first order of business was to create a mission statement for the Mount
Prospect Citizen Corps. After considerable discussion and evaluation a mission statement was
developed. Mike Figolah made a motion to approve the mission statement the Council
developed. The motion was seconded by Thomas Henderson. The following mission statement
was approved:
The mission of the Citizen Corps is to harness the power of every individual through education,
training and volunteer service to make the Village of Mount Prospect safer, stronger, and better
prepared to respond to the threats of terrorism, crime, public health issues, and disasters of all
kinds.
It was determined the next meeting will be with the CERT meeting on January 28,2009 at 6
P.M. The meeting will take place in the Police and Fire Training Room.
A motion for adjournment was made by John Dahlberg. Paul Valentine seconded the motion and
the meeting adjourned at 4 P.M.
