AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE LICENSING OF ITIN'ERAIT
MERCHANTS, RAVTKERS AND P:eDDLERB DOING BOr:INMSS IN THE VILLAG~ OF
MOUNT PROSPECT, ILLINOIS. .

the Village of .Mount Prospect, County of C<:>ok and State ot

SECTION 1. No person, firm or corporation shall conduct
the business of an itinerant merchant,'h?.;.wker or peddler, either
on foot or by vehicle, witb:tn the Village of Mount Prospect,
Illinois, without first having secured a license so to do.
SECTION 2.< All persons, firms or corporations conducting
or engaging in any of such businesses or occupation or calling
or employment, are hereby required: to obtclin a license and pay
in advance to tbe Village Clerk therefor r fee of T;";"O DOLLARS
($2.00) per dH'Y, TEN DOLLARS <tlQ.OO) per n~onth, o,rFlm DOLLARS
($50.00) per year, depending upon whether such license sball be
by the day, l'llonth or year ,a.nd when such perso;n, f.1rm or cOJ"por-
ation shall employ more than one person, i'vbether travelling on

foot or by vehicle, such license fee she.ll be TWO DOLLARS ($2.00)
per day, ftN DOL.LARS ($10.00) per month or FIFTY DOLLARS (t50.00)

SECTION ~,!.~_",.E;uch license ,shall be granted by tbe Village
Clerk of said Village in the name of the President of said
Village upon app11.cation made to SUCbVillfige Clerk and the
Presi,dent shall have power to, revoke any such license for cause.
Such license shall not be issued unless the applicant therefor
shall bavep['.id to the Village Clerk in advance such daily
lice,nse fee for tbe number of days for which such license is to

SECTION 4. The provisions of this ord1nanae shall not

apply to persons selling or offering for sale any product.
raised or produced by themselves in their occupat~on as gardners,
farmers. or truck gardners..
SECTION 5.. Any person, firm or corporation who shall
violate any of the ter~s or provisions of this ordinance, or
who sha.ll fldl, neglect or refuse to comply wi th the provi sions
thereof, shall, on conviction, be fined in a sum not less than
:rIVE DOLLARS ($5.00) or uJ.ore than TWo HUNDflE;D DOLLJ~RS <$200.00),
for each and every offense.
SECTION 6. All ordinances or parts of ordinances con-
flicting with the provisions of this ordfda:~ce are hereby
repealed 1n so far as they conflict herewith.
SECTION 7. This ordinance shall be 1n full force and
effect from nnd atter its passage, approval and publ~cation
aecord,,~ng to law.
