AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO THE SOONDING OF RAILROAD WBIStLBB
WITHIN THE LIMITS OF THE VILLAGE OF MOONT PROSPECT, ILLINOIS.

BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees of.
the Village of Mount Prospect, County of Cook and State of
Illinois:
SECTION 1. <In approaching the street crossing known as
Central Road and the street crossing known as Main Street, and

the crossing in the easterly portioA known as Mount Prospect
Road, East bound trains may sound the regulation crossing whistle
of two blasts, each of one second's duration, and two b1.a'Bt.s_
each of one half second's duration, for each named cr9s~ing;
also on approaching the crossing kn~wn as Mount Prospect Road
and the street crossing known as Emerson Street, and, the
crossing known as Central Road, West bound trains may sound their
regulation crossing whistle for each of said named crossings,
consisting of ~he aforesaid number of blasts and duration thereot.
... Except as hereinbefore provided, no railroad shall cause or allow
the wh1$tles of any locomotive engine to be sounded or blown
within the limits of said village, except in the event of
emergencies or in the event of immediate danger to persons or
property.
SECTION 2. Any railroad company or railroad corporation
which shall, by itself, its agents or employees, violate or
fail to observe any of the provisions of this ordinance, shall
for each violation or failure to observe the same be fined 8
sum not less than Ten Dollars ($10.00) nor exceeding Two Hundred
Dollars ($200.00)~

SECTIOJL.;I. This ordinance shall be in full forCie and
effect from and after its passage, approval and publication, and
shall be known as Ordinance No. !fJrJ. .
