BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF TEE VILLAGE OF 1TOUNT PROSPECT, COUNTY OF COOK AND STATE OF ILLINOIS: SECTION 1. lJNLAWFUL PICICETING DEFINED. Unlawful picketing is hereby defined as the standing, sittin~ or walking on any street or Ai~ewalk in the Village of Mount Prospect, at or near a place'of business, by a person or nersons who are not employees, ~ast, ~resent or expentant of the owner or proprietor of the business attempted to be picketed, and who have no\ per- sonal dispute with said owner or proprietor concernin~ terms or conditions of employment, for the purpose of dissuading or dis- couraging any other 'Per.on from patronizing the -place ofl/business so picketed; or the standing, sitting or walking on any street or sidewalk in the Village of Mount Prospect at or near a place of business by a person or persons who are not employees, nast present or expectant of the owner or proprietor of the place of business attempted to be picketed, and who have no personal dis- pute with said owner or proprietor concerning terms or conditions of employment, for the purpose of carrying placards or distribu- ting literature containing information alleging that the place of business picketed is unfair to its employees, or other information intended to dissuade any other person from trading at or patroni- zing such place of business. ."" SECTION 2. It shall be unlawful for any person or persons, not employees, past, present or exp~tant, of the owner or pro- prietor of the business a~mpted to be picketed and who have EBX no personal dispute with the said owner or proprietor concerning terms and conditions of employrrlent to stand, sit or walk on any street or sidewalk in the Village of Mount Prospect with the intent and pur- pose of dissuading or discouraging any person or persons from patronizing any place of business within the Village Of Mount Pros- pect. SECTION 3. It shall be unlawful for any person or persons, who are not employees, past, present or expectant of the owner or proprietor of the bus~ness attempted to be picketed and who have no personal dispute with said owner or proprietor concerning terms or conditions of employment, to snand, sit or walk on any street or sidewalk at or near any place of business in the Village of Mount Prospect carrying placards or distributing cards, handbills, dodgers, or literature containing information intended to dissuade or discour- age any person or persons from trading with or patronizing the place of business so picketed; SECTION 4. Any person violating the provi*ions of this ordinance shall be fined not less than Twenty -five ($85.00) Dollars nor more than Two Hundred $$200.00) Dollars and each day" that such offense continues shall be considered a separate offense; SECTION 5. If any part or parts of this ordinance shall be held unconstitutional such unconstitutionality shall not affect the remainder of this ordinance. SECTION 6. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication according to law. PASSED this 11th da.y of July, A..D. 1939. VILLAGE CLERK.
