BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT. COOK COUNTY. ILLINOIS: Section 1. That Section VI of an Ordinance entitled "An Ordi- nance to Revise an ordinance entitled 'An ordinance providing for the regulation and management of the Water Works System of the Village of Mount Prospect, and establish rules and regulations for the government of water consumers and others, and regulating con- nections with said system and establishing rates and charges and I license fees for plumbing'", known as Ordinance No. 164, is hereby amended to read as follows: Section VI. No consumer shall be supplied with water from the Village System until a meter shall be set and ready for use, ex- cept in cases where it is impracticable to set a meter, and in such~cases the use and consumption of water shall be governed by the Ordinances of the Village. All meters used in connection with said water system shall be and remain the property of said Village, and shall be purchased and installed by the Village, and the consumer shall pay to said Village a flat rental during the life of such meter, according to the following schedule: ... Such payment shall be made in advance to the Collector before such meter is installed, and shall entitle the consumer to the use of said meter during its life, actual wear and tear excepted and except during such periods during which the water for such consumer may be shut off for any reason as in this ordinance prOVided. One meter of proper capacity will be furnished to each consumer, and if more than one meter is desired it shall be fur- nished by the Village upon payment in advance to the.Collector of the same amount as specified in the foregoing schedule, ac- cording to the size of the meter desired. The actual cos~ to the Village of installing each meter shall be paid by the person or- dering the same immediately upon the installation and before the water is turned on, and the actual cost of keeping each meter in repair shall be paid by the person upon whose application such meter was installed as soon as the bill therefor is presented. The person upon whose application any meter is installed shall be liable for any breakage by freezing or otherwise, or any loss or damage to said meter in any way except by ordinary use and wear, and the cost of making good such damage or loss shall be paid by the person upon whose application such meter was instal- led as soon as the bill therefor is presented, and the amount thereof shall be a lien against the premises upon which said meter is located to the same extent and. with the same effect as (..i:,," ,'''1 . That the 1'irst paragraph of sub-paragraph ;3 of Section VIII of an Ordinance entitled "An Ordinance to Revise an ordinance entitled 'An Ordinance providing for the regulations and management of the Water Works System of the Village of Mount Prospect, and establish rules and regulations for the government of water consumers and. others, and regulating connections with sai system and establishing rates and charges and license fees for i plumbing' n, known. as Ordinance No. 164, is hereby amended to read I as follows: 3: The sum of Thirty-five Dollars ($35.00) shall be paid in advance by each applicant for each separate service required to be placed provided that such service does not exceed twenty (20) feet in length, and if in excess of twenty (20) feet, the additional length shall be advanced at the rate of One Dollar ($1.00) for each and every foot in excess thereof, and shall be payable in addition to the intial fee herein set forth, for which the Village will furnish all necessary pipes, cocks, valves and shut-off box, cast iron service box and labor neces- sary to lay .and construct such service pipes, and which service pipes shall be constructed ~ccording to the following specifi- cations: Section 3. That all ordinances or parts of ordinanoes in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed. Section 4.
