AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE
KINDLING OF FIRES ON PUBLIC
PROPERTY AlfD REGULATING THE
KINDLING OF FIRES ON PRIVATE
PROPERTY.

WBEREAS~ many citizens of the Village of Mount Prospect
kindle fires on adjoining vacant property to remove weeds and
other growth and by their failure to properly attend such fires
endanger surrounding property and cause the necessity of calling
upon the Village Fire Department to extinguish such fire, NOW
THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees of
the Village of Mount Prospect, Cook County, Illinois:
SECTION ~. No person shall make or kindle any fire in
any of the streets, alleys, avenues or public grounds of the
Village of Mount Prospect.
SECTION 2. No person shall make or kindle any fire on
any private lot, parcel or tract of land in said Village so as
to endanger any buildings or other property in the neighborhood.
Fires may be kindled or set only when they are properly attended
and must be under control so that it will not be necessary to
call upon the Fire Department/.'
SECTION 3. Any person, firm or corporation violating
the provisions of this Ordinance shall upon conviction thereof,
be fined not more than $200.00 for each and every offense.
SECTION 4.' All. ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed.
SECTION 5. Th,at this ordinance shall be in full force
and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication,
according to law.
