BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT .AND BOARD OF TRUSfDS
OF THE VILLAGE OF KOOT PROSPECf.. COOK CODifY, ILLINOIS:
~ That for the purpose of this Ordinance the
term tJBicycle. is here by defined to be every device propelled
by human power upon which any person may ride.. having two tandem
wheels.
~ Every bicycle.. when in use at night t11l.e.
shall be equipped with a laDlp on the front which shall em! t a
white light visible from a distance of at least five hundred (500)
feet to the front, aDd with a red,reflector on the rear which
shall be visible from all distances from'fifty (50) feet to three
hundred (300) teet to the rear when directly in front ot a la1l'-
f'ul upper beam ot headlups on a motor vehiele. A lamp em! tting
a red light visible from a distance of five hundred (500) feet
to the rear may be used in addition to the red reflector.
~ Any person found guilty of violating the
provisions of this Ordinance shall be punished by a tine of not
less than One Dollar ($1.00) nor more than Ten Dollars ($10.00)
for each and every ottense.
~ All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in
confl.1ct herewith are hereby repealed.
~ ~hat this Ord1nance shall be in run force
and effect fram and after its passage, approval andpubl1cation.
