HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd 377 07/14/1953 :/77 .1! , I I I Ordinance No. .:3 ?7 AN ORDINANCE declaring an emergency and curtailing the use of water. ~ 1* ~~ ~ ~ WHEREAR, serious breakdowns of pumping equipment together with unusual demands ocassioned by the hot weather has caused a shortage of water to meet all demands of the citizens of tie Village of Mount Prospect; and ~~EREAS, pending the arrival of auxilliary equipment and the construction of a new reservoir it shall be necessary to curtail the use of water; and WHEREAS, the curtailment of unlimited use of water is neces- sary for the Public health, sa.fety an d welfare; and ~EREAS, an emergency is deemed to exist; Now, Therefore: BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount prospect, Cook county, Illinois: Section 1. That the President and Board of Trustees find and as declare an emergency to exist insofar/the water supply of the Village is concerned. Section 2. That during this emergency, sprinkling is strict- ly prohibited, as is the use of water for purposes other than that required for sanitation and health. Section 3. That the President of the Village is here~ autho rized and empowered to lift the emergen""y, when in his judgment, he deems it no longer to exist, and may from time to time, give orders with respect to the use of water for purposes other than for sanitary and health purposes. Section 4. Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall, upon conviction thereof, be fined not less than $25.00 nor more than$~JO.OO for each and every offense. II l lOll. II :1 !I II II II '! Section 5. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed. Section 6. That this ordinance, an emergency existing, shall take effect immediately upon its passage and approval; and that this ordinance shall be published as provided by law.
