HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd 394 02/16/1954 Ordinance No.c294- AN ORDINANCE annexing certain lands to the Village of Mount Prospect, Illinois WHEREAS, a written petition has been filed with the Village Clerk of the Village of Mount Prospect by ELMER F. GLEICH and ELLEN M. GLEICH, his wife, being the sole owner of record of the herein- after described land and territory, requesting the annexation of said tract of land and territory te the Village of Mount Prospectj and WHEREAS, said land and territory is not within the cer- porate limits of any municipality but i$ contiguous to the Village of Mount Prospect, is unhabited and has no electors residing thereinj and WHEREAS, said petition states that no electors reside therein, is under oath and in all respect complies with the require- ments of the statute in such case made and providedj and WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of this Village have examined said petition and have considered the ques- tion of the annexation of the territory described in said peti- tion and believe it to be to the best interests of the municipality that such territory be annexed thereto; NOW, THEREFORE: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: Section 1. That the allegations contained in the peti- tion are true. Section 2. That the lands and territory described, to-wit: That part of the s.i of the S.W.t of Section 12, Town- ship 41 North, Range JI East of the Third Principal Meridian, lying East of the center line extended South of Emerson Street as laid out in prospect Highlands, a subdivision of the Westerly 379.40 feet of the E.i of the North 60 Rod, of the S.W.t of Section 12 aforesaid and North of the center line of a 60 foot wide Right of Way of a Drainage Ditch described as follows: Beginning at a point on the East line of the S.W.t of said Section 12, bearing N.Oo09'10"E. 219.70 feet from the Southeast corner of said Quarter section; thence N.570011f50"W. 758 feet; thence N.89030r50"W. 418.20 feet; thence S.81014'40"w 86.95 feet to an intersection with the center line of Emer- son Street extended South (excepting from said tract that part thereof described as follows: The East 93 feet of the West 126 feet as measured along the North and South lines of the described tract, except the North 33 feet thereof of that part of the s.i of the s.w.i of said Section 12 lying East of the center line extended South of Emerson Street in prospect Highlands, Recorded as Docu- ment 92~3930, April 26, 1926, in Book 226 of Plats, page 20 in the Recorder's office of Cook County, Illinois, and North of a line drawn from a point on the center line of Emerson Street extended, which is 249.21 feet South of the Northwest corner to a point on the East line of said described tract which is 250.86 feet South of the Northeast corner thereof.) in Cook County, Illinois. which territory is contiguous to the Village of Mount Prospect, is not embraced therein, is uninhabited, contains no electors residing therein, and is uncorporated, be and the same is hereby annexed to the Village of Mount Prospect) so that hereafter said terri- tory shall be included within the boundary lines and limits of said Village as is by law in such case made and provided. Section 3. The Village Clerk of this Village is hereby directed to file a certified copy of this Ordinance, together with an accurate map of said annexed territory, with the Recorder of Deeds of Cook County, Illinois.
