HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd 460 09/06/1955 Ordinance No. ~ AN ORDINANCE annexing certain lands to the Village of Mount Prospect, Illinois. WHEREAS, a written petition has been filed with the Village Clerk of the Village of Mount Prospect by ANNA E.JONES, being the sole owner of record of the herein- after described land and territory, requesting the annexation of said tract of land and territory to the Village of Mount Prospect; and WHEREAS, said land and territory is not within the corporate limits of any municipality but is contiguous to the , ,~, Village of Mount Prospect, is unhabited and has no electors residing therein; and WHEREAS, said petition states that no electors reside therein, is under oath and in all respects complies with the requirements of the statute in such case made and provided; and WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of ",...i'1""'" this Village have examined said petition and have considered the question of the annexation of the territory described in said petition and believe it to be to the best interests of the municipality that such territory be annexed thereto; .-./' Now, Therefore: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: Section 1. That the allegations contained in the petition are true. Section 2. That the lands and territory described to-wit: That part of the S.W. i of Section 12, Township 41 North, Range 11 East of the 3rd principal Meridian described as follows: beginning at a point on the South line of said quarter section, bearing N. 88001140" W., 1328.37 feet from the Southeast corner thereof; thence due north 612.31 ft. to an intersection with the center- line of a 60 foot wide right of way of the Weller Creek Drainage District; thence along the centerline of said right of way S. 81014140" W., 632.18 ft.; thence along the centerline of said right of way N. 46040120" W., 685.71 ft. to its intersection with .a line running from a point on the South line of the North 60 rods of the S.W. i- of said Section 12 aforesaid, which is 196.75 ft. East of the West line of the S.W. i- of said section to a point on the South line of said Quarter section which is 196.45 ft. East of the Southwest corner thereof; thence S. 000140" W. along said line 947.88 feet more or less to the South line of the S.W. i of said section; thence S. 88001'40" E., 1124.40 ft. more or less to the place of beginning. )Excepting therefrom that part lying East of the centerline extended South of Main Str., as laid out in "prospect park Subdivision No.1", being a subdivision of the West i of the North 60 rods of S.W. i- of Section 12 as aforesaid) and also (exceptirg the following: - beginning at a point on the South line of the Southwest i- of Section 12, Township 41 North, Range 11, East of the Third principal Meridian at the Southeast corner of Pleasantdale Subdivision, a sub- division in the said Southwest i of said Section 12, thence East along the South line of the Southwest i- of said Section 12, 190 feet; thence North 250.03 ft. parallel with the East line of said Pleasantdale subdivision;thence west parallel to the South line of the said Southwest t to the East line of said Pleasantdale Subdivision, thence South along the East line thereof, to the place of beginning excepting therefrom the South 50 feet of said descrired property; and excepting also the East 33 feet of said described property in cook county, Illinois) which territory is contiguous to the Village of Mount Prospect, is not embraced therein, is uninhabited, contains no electors residing therein, and is unincorporated, be and the same is hereby annexed to the Village of Mount prospect so that hereafter said territory shallre included within the boundary lines and limits of said Village as is by law in such case made and provided. Section 3. The Village Clerk of this Village is hereby directed to file a certified copy of this Ordinance, together with an accurate map of said annexed territory, with the Recorder of Deeds of Cook county, Illinois. -2- Section 4.
