ORDINANCE NO.~~~
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE MUNICIPAL CODE
OF MOUNT PROSPECT OF 1957 AS AMENDED, BY
REPEALING CERTAIN SECTIONS AND BY ADOPT-
ING CERTAIN AMENDMENTS THERETO
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
Section 1: That Section 18.105 of Chapter 18 of
the Municipal Code of Mount Prospect of 1957, as amended,
be and the same is hereby repealed and said Section 18.105
of Chapter 18 shall hereafter be and read as follows:
IISection 18.105 Signs and Signals. It
shall be unlawful for the driver of any
vehicle to disobey the instructions of
any traffic signs or signal placed in
view under the authority of the Board of
Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect
or the Municipal Code of Mount Prospect,
or in accordance with the laws of the
State of Illinois. All signs established
by direction of the governing body shall
conform to the State standards for traf-
fic signs.1I
Section 2: That Chapter 18 of the Municipal Code
of Mount Prospect of 1957, as amended, be and the same is
hereby amended by adding the following:
"Section 18.113 Temporary Controls. In
cases of emergency, or when public health,
safety or convenience require, the Village
Manager may establish temporary traffic
controls, including the designation of one
way streets and the regulation or restric-
tion of parking on any street or alley;
provided that such controls shall not be-
come effective until the posting of proper
signs which must remain conspicuously dis-
played while said regulation is in effect;
and provided further that no control or
regulation established pursuant to this
Section shall be permitted to continue for
a period of time in excess of twelve (12)
consecutive hours in a twenty-four (24)
hour day. II

Se~tion 3: That this Ordinance shall be in full
force and effect from and after its passage, approval and
publication as required by law.
