ORDINANCE NO. SG 1
AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 21, ARTICLE
II (FIRE LIMITS) OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF
MOUNT PROSPECT OF 1957 AS AMENDED
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
Section 1: That Section 21.202 (Exterior Cover-
ings) of Article II, Chapter 21 of the Municipal Code of
the Village of Mount Prospect, Cook County, Illinois, as
amended, be and the same is hereby repealed and said Sec-
tion 21.202 (Exterior Coverings) be and the same shall here-
after read as follows:
II Section 21.202. Exterior Coverings. It
shall be unlawful to construct or erect any
buildings or structure or portion thereof or
addition thereto, in the fire limits unless the
exterior walls and roof of such building or
structure are covered or constructed of non-
flammable materials; provided that this shall
not operate to prohibit the construction of tem-
porary one-story buildings for the use of build-
ers during construction of the fire-proof struc-
ture; wooden fences not over eight feet high;
piazzas or balconies not exceeding ten feet in
width or extending more than three feet above
the second story beams; bay windows when covered
with incombustible material; or during construc-
tion for workmen engaged thereon, small outhouses
not exceeding one hundred and fifty feet in area
nor eight feet in height. II
Section 2: That this Ordinance shall be in full
force and effect from and after its passage and approval
according to law.
