HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd 597 02/18/1958 ~, ( , ORDINANCE NO. -)77 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAP'I'ER IX OF THE MOUNT PROSPECT BUILDING CODE OF 1957 AS 1\fV1.tE NDED BE IT ORDAIllliD BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: Section 1: That Chapter IX-A, Section 16 of the Mount Prospect Building Code of 1957, as amended, shall be and the same is hereby amended to and shall here- after read as follows: tlli5. Plaster: All vlalls and ceilings of a domicile except in unfinished portions of an attic or basement or not otherwise provided for or required, shall be of such material as to meet one-hour fire resistance rating of the National Board of Fire Underwriters.tl Section 2: That Chapter IX-A, Section 17 of the Mount Prospect Building Cocie of 1957', as amended, shall be and the same is hereby amended to and shall hereafter read as follows: n 17 . I\ny plaster shall be applied direct to brick and tile walls which have been damp proofed, or to metal, fibre or plaster board lath on furred walls, wood joist and stud parti- tions, except as otherwise provided for or re- quired for fire protection. If fibre or plaster board lath is used, all internal corners or angles of walls and ceilings shall be reinforced with a continuous strip of metal lath not less than 4 inches wide. All interior walls and ceil- in~s shall be of such material as to meet a one- hour fire resistance rating as prescribed by the National Board of Fire Underwriters.ll Section 3: That Chapter IX-B, Section 15, of the Mount Prospect Building Code of 1957, as amended, shall be and the same is hereby amended to and shall hereafter read as folloVIS: 1l15: Plaster: All walls and ceilings of a domicile, except in unfinished portions of an attic or basement or not otherwise provided for or required, shall be of such material as to meet a one-hour fire resistance rating of the National Board of Fire Underwriters. II - 2 - Section 4: That Chapter IX-B, Section 16, of the Ivlount Prospect Building Code of 1957, as amended, shall be and the same is hereby amended to and shall hereafter read as follows: tl16. It Section 11: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval. Section 12: That all ordinances or parts of ordi- nances in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby re- pealed, reserving however, to the Village of Mount Prospect any rights which have accrued to it against any person, firm or corporation under any ordinances or sections of ordinances which may be and are hereby repealed.
