HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd 600 03/18/1958 ORDINANCE NO. /'00 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER IX OF THE MOUNT PROSPECT BUILDING CODE OF 1957 AS AMENDED BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: Section 1: That Chapter IX-A, Section 23 of the Mount Prospect Building Code of 195'7, as amended, shall be and the same is hereby amended to and shall hereafter read as follows: "23. Miscellaneous Requirements: A private garage or a series of private garages may be at- tached to or be a component part of a building of ordinary construction, provided that the garage or garages be separated from each other and divided from any other part of the building by either fire partitions or fire walls and that the ceiling shall be of such material as to meet a one-hour fire re- sistance rating of the National Board of Fire Under- writers, and further provided that any door, if of combustible construction, connecting garage or garages with any other portion of the building is a solid door not less than 1-3/4 inch in thickness.1I Section 2: That Chapter IX-B, Section 22 of the Mount Prospect Building Code of 1957, as amended, shall be and the same is hereby amended to and shall hereafter read as follows: tt22. Miscellaneous Requirements: A private garage may be attached to or be a component part of a building, of frame construction, provided that all walls and ceilings of the garage shall be of such material as to meet a one-hour fire resistance rating of the National Board of Fire Underwriters, and that any door, if of combustible construction, connecting the garage with any other portion of the building is a solid door not less than 1-3/4 inch in thickness.1t Section 3: That Chapter IX-C, Section 16 of the Mount Prospect Building Code of 1957, as amended, shall be and the same is hereby amended to and shall hereafter read as follows: It16. Miscellaneous Requirements: A private garage or a series of private garages may be a~ tached to or be a component part of a building of mill construction, provided that the garage or - 2 - garages be separated from each other and divided from any other part of the building by a fire wall and that the ceiling shall be of such material as to meet a one-hour fire resistance rating of the National Board of Fire Underwriters, and that any door shall be a solid door not less than 1-3/4 inch in thickness.1I Section 4: That Chapter IX-D, Section 19 of the Mount Prospect Building Code of 1957 as amended, shall be and the same is hereby amended to and shall hereafter read as follows: \f19. Miscellaneous Requirements: A private garage or a series of private garages may be at- tached to or be a component part of semi-fireproof construction provided that the garage or garages be separated from each other and divided from any other part of the building by a fire wall and that the ceiling shall be of such material as to meet a one-hour fire resistance rating of the National Board of Fire Underwriters, and that any door shall be a solid door not less than 1-3/4 inch in thick- ness.1t Section 5: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval. Section 6: That all ordinances or parts of ordi- nances in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby re- pealed, reserving however, to the Village of Mount Prospect any rights which have accrued to it against any person, firm or corporation under any ordinances or sections of ordi- nances which may be and are hereby repealed.
