AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 11 UNDER
PART B OF CHAPTER IX OF THE MOUNT PROSPECT
BUILDING CODE OF 1957 AS AMENDED
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
Section 1: That Section 11 of Chapter IX-B (Frame
Construction) of the Building Code of f.1ount Prospect of
1957 as amended, be and the same is hereby amended to and
shall hereafter read as follows:
"II. Plywood, Fibre Board, and Gypsum Sheathing
Board as a substitute: Pl~~ood of not less than
5 ply or 1/2 inch in thickness bonded with water
resistant glue, provided that surface grain of
plywood runs at right angles to studding or roof
rafters, may be substituted for wood sheathing
on walls or roofs. Fibre board not less than 3/4
inch in thickness, or gypsum sheathing board not
less than ~/2 inch in thickness may be used in
place of wood sheathing on walls. Plywood, fibre
board, and gypsum sheathing board must be applied
in accordance with manufacturer's approved methods,
securely nailed to studd~ng or rafters with coated
nails, and must be covered with a water resistant
building paper."
Section 2: That this ordinance shall be in full force
and effect from and after its passage, approval and publica-
tion according to law.
Section 3: That all ordinances or parts of ordinances '.'
in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed,
reserving, however, to the Village of Mount Prospect any
rights which have accrued to it against any person firm or
corporation under any ordinance or sections of ordinances
which may be and are hereby repealed.
