ORDINANCE NO. 6 /~
AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTIONS 17.103,
17.106 and 17.107 of CHAPTER 17 OF THE
MUNICIPAL CODE OF MOUNT PROSPECT OF
1957 AS AMENDED
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY,
ILLINOIS:
Section 1: That Section 17.103 of Chapter 17
of the Municipal Code of Mount Prospect of 1957, as
amended, be and the same is hereby amended to and shall
hereafter read as follows:
tlSection 17.103 Fees. The annual fees
for motor vehicle licenses are as follows:

Each fee shall be reduced by a 25% discount if
paid vIi thin thirty (30) days of the due date set
forth in Section 1'7.106.1\
Section 2: That Section 17.106 of Chapter 17
of the I'1unicipal Code of IvIount Prospect of 1951, as
amended, be and the same is hereby amended to and shall
hereafter read as follows:
t1Section l7.l0G Time of Payment-License Year.
Such license fee shall be due and payable annually
in advance on the first day of January of each year.
Where a resident applicant acquires a vehicle after
the first day of January or where an applicant has
established residence within the Village after the
first day of January then said license fee shall be
due and payable within twenty-four (24) hours. All
such licenses shall expire on the 31st day of Decem-
ber following the date of issuance. Where the said
fee becomes due six (6) months after the start of
the license year, then upon timely application be-
ing made to the clerk, a license shall be issued for
the remainder of the year upon payment of one-half
(1/2) of the fee provided for in Section l'r .103.1\
Section 3: That Section 17.107 of Chapter 17
of the Municipal Code of filount Prospect of 1957, as
amended, be and the same is hereby amended to and shall

hereafter read as follows:
t1Section 17.107 Plates and Windshield Sticker.
(a) Each applicant, upon payment of the fee, shall
be given a license plate or windshield sticker of
such desiGn and material as may be approved by the
President and Board of Trustees. Any such license
plate shall be fastened in a prominent place on the
front of the vehicle at all times it is operated in
the Village. Any such windshield sticker shall be
affixed in the lower right-hand corner on the inside
of the glass part of the windshield of such motor
vehicle, approximately one inch from the right and
lower section of the frame of such windshield, at
all times it is operated in the Village. Except as
otherwise provided in Section 17.104, no license or
sticker issued hereunder shall be transferred from
the vehicle for which j_ t VIas issued to any other
vehicle without prior notification to, and approval
of the Clerk.
(?) There shall be an additional charge of One
(:p1.00) Dollar to the fee set forth in Section
17.103 to replace during the year any windshield
sticker or plates which have been mutilated, de-
stroyed or lost or for a transfer caused by the sale
of the vehicle to which the original sticker or
plates were affixed.
Section 4: That this Ordinance shall be in full
force and effect from and after its passage, approval and
publication according to law.
Section 5: That all ordinances or parts of ordi-
nances in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby re-
pealed, reserving however, to the Village of Mount Prospect
any rights which have accrued to it against any person, firm
or corporation under Clny ordinances or sections of ordlnances
whlch may be and Clre hereby repealed.
