A IEESOLUTION APPROVING TBE FISCAL YEAR 1994-1995 COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT ENTITLEMENT PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the Village of Mount Prospect is entering its seventeenth year as an entitlement community
under the federal Community Development Block Grant PrOgram; and
WEIEREAS, in the past sixteen years the Village has used its Community Development Block Grant
entitlement to implement various projects to address the community development and housing needs of low- and
moderate-income and elderly residents, to reduce and prevent the occurrence of deterioration in the Central Area
of the Village, to increase accessibility for the handicapped, and to address other community needs in conformance
with the objectives of the Community Development Block Grant Program; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Mount Prospect allocated $349,000.00 for fiscal year 1994, and $80,844.51
in program income, all new allocations from the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and program
income, and $30,000.00 from previous funds from the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development; and
Wm~REAS, the Mayor and Board of Trustees has determined that these funds can continue to be of benefit
in providing for resident's health, safety and welfare and in meeting the community development and housing needs
of it s citizens:
NOW TIIEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY TllE MAYOR AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF TIlE
VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION ONE: The Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect hereby approves the
allocation of Community Development Block Grant funds in the amount of $349,000.00 and Community
Development Block Grant funds from previous years in the amount of $30,000.00 and program income funds in the
amount of $80,844.51, all to the following projects for a total allocation of $459,844.51:
Neighborhood Services Program $ 31,283.00
Suburban Primary Health Care 16,000.00
Elderly Services Program 4,000.00
Neighborhood Street Improvements Program 82,700.00
Residential Rehabilitation Loan Program 230,844.51
Public Building Accessibility 50,000.00
General Administration 45,017.00
FY '94 C.D.B.G. FUNDS $459.844.51
SECTION TWO: The Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect hereby authorizes the
Village Manager to prepare and forward to the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development a submission
of Mount Prospect's "Final Statement of Community Development Objectives and Projected Use of Funds" in
accordance with federal guidelines.
SECTION THREE: This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and at%er its passage and approval in
the manner provided by law.
