HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes 14-94 04/05/1994 RESOLUTION NO. 14-94 A RESOLUTION ACKNOWLEDGING THE CONTRIBUTIONS OF REVEREND OMAR LOGAN WHEREAS, REV. OMAR LOGAN became an ordained minister in 1967; and WHEREAS, REV. OMAR LOGAN has served as Pastor of Trinity United Methodist Church in Mount Prospect since 1979, having served as Pastor in EImwood Park and Lombard prior to coming to Mount Prospect; and WHEREAS, REV. OMAR LOGAN has been called to ministry in Aurora; and WHEREAS, REV. OMAR LOGAN has been an active member of the Church Council of Mount Prospect, having served as President of that Council in 1993, addressing important issues including establishing a policy against gambling, supporting education and new facilities for our children, as well as supporting the construction of a new Police and Fire Building in Mount Prospect; and WHEREAS, REV. OMAR LOGAN has continually assisted both members of his parish as well as the community in their numerous areas of need; and WHEREAS, REV. OMAR LOGAN extended his helping hand and that of his parishioners to the needy by allowing the church to open its doors to the homeless in the winter months through active membership in the P.A.D.S. Program; and WHEREAS, REV. OMAR LOGAN saw the need to help guide both parents and teenagers in the difficult years and was one of the original members of Teens And Parents for a better Mount Prospect (TAP Mount Prospect); and WHEREAS, REV. OMAR LOGAN has been very generous with his time, always willing to listen and lend a hand, as well going above and beyond what was expected in order to help his fellow man; and WHEREAS, the Village of Mount Prospect has benefited from the many years of service and dedication of REV. OMAR LOGAN. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: SECTION ONE: That the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect as well as the residents of the Village do hereby extend appreciation to REV. OMAR LOGAN for his years of devoted Christian service in the Village of Mount Prosect and do hereby extend best wishes for continued happiness and success to REV. OMAR LOGAN and his family in their new home. SECTION TWO: That a copy of this Resolution be presented to REV. OMAR LOGAN. SECTION THREE: That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval in the manner provided by law.
